I am teaching the new learning remote control to play, pause, stop, skip, search, and adjust volume. There is a chip in the volume adjustment knob, and there is a little sound even when the volume is set to the minimum, but I dont think it will be a practical problem. I checked the playback on my CD-R. Before use, be sure to release the transportation protection lever on the bottom of the main unit. If you do not release this, the CD will not play.
