This unit had a bad power supply when it came to me. Sometimes such power supplies can be fixed with new output filter capacitors, power switcher or bridge rectifier, or a combination. This power supply couldnt be fixed with reasonable effort, so it was removed and replaced with an external fixed switching supply (wall wart), and the additional voltage required was generated from a new internal DC-DC converter. If the wall wart should fail in the future, replace it and you are ready to go again. You likely wont have to throw the unit away, as is the case when the original supply fails. Tested, updated, reset and ready to go. E3-AC
