For Auction: 1 Sonos Connect Gen 1 in perfect working condition with power cord. Factory reset and tested to operate as new. This unit was in one of my high end clients vacation home (rarely used) entertainment center cabinet. My client sold the home and the new owner did not want the Sonos system so I removed it. I tested the entire system before removing and it all was working perfectly including this Connect unit. Works on S1 and S2 app. I factory reset the unit and screenshotted my Sonos S2 app recognizing the Connect and asking to add it to my system (see last photo). The problem is that the capacitors used in these units are cheap and they fail with time (and they do so much faster than other similar devices like your TV or stereo, partly because your Sonos devices are constantly powered up). The capacitors dry out and literally change shape (bulge) and leak! As they near failure, the device may have trouble booting up, or will reboot itself, or will lose network connectivity, or wont connect to your audio sources. I open these up and replace the power supply capacitors. I use better replacement parts than the original ones, and as a result the device will last for many years. Dont buy a used Sonos Connect device that has not had this repair done to it, as you are tempting fate!! These repaired devices are a much better investment!!!
