Der Sonos Connect 2. Gen. (CTNZPEU1) ist ein digital/analoger Netzwerkplayer der 2. Generation, welcher exzellente Audioqualität liefert. Dieses Gerät ist kompatibel mit der Sonos App S2 und kann einfach mit anderen Sonos Produkten verbunden werden. Im Gegensatz zum Nachfolgeprodukt Sonos Port besitzt der Sonos Connect 2. Gen. neben dem koaxialen zusätzlich einen optischen Digitalausgang. Analoge Cinchausgänge sind selbstverständlich auch vorhanden (s. Foto der Geräterückseite). Der Netzwerkplayer wurde optisch digital an einem Verstärker angeschlossen verwendet, stand verdeckt in einem Rack (keine Gehäuseverfärbungen durch Sonnenlicht) und wurde nur per Smartphone-App bedient (keine ausgeleierten Tasten). Vor dem Abbau am 22.01.24 habe ich das Gerät erfolgreich getestet und anschließend gem. Sonos-Anleitung ein Reset auf die Werkseinstellungen durchgeführt (grüne LED blinkt). Every single one of them had either failed, or had components inside that were obviously going to fail. The problem is that the capacitors used in these units are cheap and they fail with time (and they do so much faster than other similar devices like your TV or stereo, partly because your Sonos devices are constantly powered up). The capacitors dry out and literally change shape (bulge) and leak! As they near failure, the device may have trouble booting up, or will reboot itself, or will lose network connectivity, or wont connect to your audio sources. I open these up and replace the power supply capacitors. I use better replacement parts than the original ones, and as a result the device will last for many years. Dont buy a used Sonos Connect device that has not had this repair done to it, as you are tempting fate!! These repaired devices are a much better investment!!!
