Up for auction is my Sonic Frontiers Anthem Pre 1L tube line level preamp.This is a one-owner piece that is in pristine, mint, condition, with no nicks, scratches, or marks. The sound is fast, clean, and uncolored. Build and parts quality are exceptional. It has selectable gain settings of 8dB, 16dB, and 24dB, allowing it to drive virtually any amplifier. The preamp comes with factory-stock 6922 tubes, which can be rolled with 6DJ8, 7308, or E88CC tubes. Also included is the detachable AC power cord, factory shipping carton and separate carton that holds the tubes, spare fuses, cotton gloves, screw driver, plus pamphlets and operating manual. Vacuum-tube line preamplifier (no turntable/phono stage). Three 6922 tubes per channel. External power supply. Rare black finish and includes remote. Inputs are two line-level balanced and four line-level single-ended. Outputs are two balanced (XLR), two single-ended (RCA) and a headphone output. Plus a tape loop. For sale by second owner and sat unused in a smoke free environment for 15 years. Light scuff above display and light scratch on front of power supply. See pics, most might not notice at a distance. Remote seems to need batteries. Unsure of how to open it. Thus left as us for fear of breaking or scratching. Support if ever needed is apparently available from Anthem who bought Sonic Frontiers. Also: Vintage Sound Parts And Components (2939) on eBay My thoughts: VERY neutral for a tube preamp and very quiet. Its virtues are its uncolorized or editorialized music presentation and best appreciated with extensive listening. Selling for the second owner go is moving. Thus no returns. However: was bench checked and used for 3 months before this post with no issues.
