Designed by David Belles who started Power Modules 40 years ago. These dont come up on the market too often. I had paired it with the Belles power amplifier and it sounded good. I then had it connected to a Classe Audio power amp and that really took it up to a higher level. Build and sound quality fantastic, especially for the price!!! Sound quality is important and this amp delivers. Soundstage is dead center and have very very good dimensionality. This pre-amp is honestly fantastic and has features that other pre-amps just dont come with. I preferred the sound of this pre-amp to the Schiit Freya+ which has been very highly regarded. Selling because as a HiFi enthusiast you have to purge from time to time. Unfortunately I was never provided a remote. I ended up just using my trusty Logitech Harmony. Amp was experiencing popping sound issues (common for this amp first edition) Burson has replaced all of the electronics inside... so while the amp is around 2 years old in reality it is 1 week old (everything new directly from Burson as a warranty replacement) only case was left original.I have tested it throughly and sounds better than ever ;) Let me know if you have any questions.

My Sound Impressions: This amp has always struck me as being very quick, powerful, and refined. Resolution is pretty good and soundstage is good. Might be somewhat on the bright side, definitely brings out the textures in the sound. It is powerful enough to drive all types of cans and has a low/high gain switch to better match whatever efficiency your headphones have. Flaws: It has a lot of scratches on the chassis from not handling it all that carefully... The sound may crackle a bit when turning the volume knob, the wipers in the potentiometer may be dirty with resistive elements coming from the pot itself. I turned the knob back and forth several times and this got rid of the issue for now. Other than that it works perfectly. Includes power cable, but no RCA cables. The MSRP for this amp was $600 when it released years ago if I remember correctly so this is a real bargain, with flaws and all. Its still a high quality, fully discrete, full Class-A amp. Clef Soloist - 50 Class A integrated Amp. This is an outstanding amp that punches way way above its price point. Guaranteed you will not get better for the money. Review: Just like most audiophiles out there, I love a giant killer product. Something that fights well above its price point. Brands like Croft , Trichord Research, Jas Audio and Audio Synthesis are known for their high value for the money. I am happy (very happy) to add Clef Audio to that list. Enter the Clef Soloist-50 integrated amp. The little marvel has a power rating of 50 watts at 8 ohms and doubles the power to 100 watts @ 4 ohms. The first 10 watts (the most important watts in my book) operate in pure class A. The amp is very well built, with beautiful curving lines of the casework certainly easy on the eye. The operation is simple and logical; there are 4 inputs in total, 3 RCA and 1 XLR. The Soloist-50 is a dual mono design with a real balanced input which means that the noise floor should be very low. Clef Soloist - 50 Out of the box, the Soloist-50 sounded very good indeed, however after a week of keeping the amp cooking away on the rack, the sound has become considerably better. The slight brightness that was there first day has now completely gone and bass has become fuller and faster. Adam (my technical guy) wowed by Clef Audios detail, swiftness, transparency, and intelligibility thats normally only associated with integrated amps that cost around 5000 (and more!). The midrange is how the Clef Soloist-50 won me over the most. The ability to probe directly into the heart of the music, to uncover the essence of a performance, is made starkly apparent with the human voice. Play a well recorded album like Diana Krall Live in Paris and the sound is very natural and genuine with Dianas voice coming through with clear, concise articulation. I tried the Clef with a fairly wide variety of speakers from under 4,000 Boenicke W5, all the way through to Maxonic TW1300 (68,000), the sound has been consistency musical. The shocking moment came when we hooked the Soloist -50 up with Magneplanar MG 3.7i, the Maggies do like a lot of power, normally around 200 watts upward but the 50 watts - Clef was able to drive the flat panel speakers to a crazy level without any sign of bottoming out. The only note about speaker matching is the Clef has quite a high gain so a very high sensitive speaker owner may have some problems adjusting a suitable volume for a late night listening but I am talking 108 dB Maxonic horn speakers here! If your speakers have sensitivity of 94dB and below, I can confidently say that you will not have this problem. In my opinion and experience, you will have to spend close to five thousand UK pounds to find an integrated amp will compete with, let alone best, the Clef soloist-50 in overall terms of lack of coloration, coherence, and utter musical clarity. The ability to drive most real world speakers to their potential is an added bonus Class-A Design Circuit- This is the most linear of the amplifier classes, meaning the output signal is a truer representation of what was imputed. The output device (transistor) conducts electricity for the entire cycle of input signal. In other words, they reproduce the entire waveform in its entirety. These amps run hot, as the transistors in the power amp are on and running at full power all the time. Because of these factors, Class A amplifiers are very inefficient for every watt of output power, they usually waste some watts as heat. Because of the watts of heat energy released they run very hot, needing lots of ventilation. But the upside is that these amps are the most enjoyed of all amplifiers. These amps dig out musical detail, since the transistor reproduces the entire audio waveform without ever cutting off. As a result the sound is cleaner and more linear; that is, it contains much lower levels of distortion. They are the most accurate of all amps available. -Dual Mono Design- Dual mono design topology. This gives the amplifier better isolation between channels. Soundstage imaging is improved, offering true soundstage width and depth. This unit is a excellent working condition and comes from a SMOKE FREE HOME. It will come with the speaker and the satellite radio unit. As of 7/14/22 the unit is ACTIVE!!!! It gets a limited number of stations (no Howard Stern or stations above 150). I have no idea how long this until will be active and make no guarantees. However, I will say that, when you receive the unit DO NOT CALL SIRIUS or they will deactivate the unit.
