In good working and fair cosmetic conditions. The plastic cabinets have some marks, one of the feet has come loose, and the grills show some wear.No mounting brackets included. Play tested for a few hours with no issues. 10.5w x 6.5h x8d when they are on their sides Please examine pictures carefully as they are considered part of this description.

Up for sale, is a perfect working pair of Snell Acoustics model KII Bookshelf speakers. These speakers are in GORGEOUS condition. No dings, dents, or chips in the cabinets. When I acquired this pair of speakers, from the original owner, he had replaced the original woofers, with aftermarket woofers. I did some research online, and found the company, that manufactures woofers, specifically for Snell. Atomic HiFi and TV,in Palm Springs,California. I talked to Steve Flynn, and gave him all the information needed, to replace the aftermarket woofers. These now have direct replacement woofers, that have been Tuned to these specific cabinets. This is a sequential pair, that sound absolutely fantastic!! The only flaw (if you want to consider it a flaw) that is noticeable, are a set of numbers, that were lightly engraved on the backs of each cabinet. Obviously, this does not affect their performance. I prefer local pickup, however, if you need these shipped( at your cost) I will assist you, as much as I can. If you have a fedex or UPS account, shipping will be much cheaper.

Snell Acoustics. The type A was the flagship of the Snell line and this Fifth generation model was the final Type A. Manufactured roughly 1993-1998. These speakers originally retailed for just under $19,000 when new! These are two towers with matched separate crossovers. Subwoofers are not included. I have enjoyed these but they don’t fit in the new house. Sound is truly spectacular. Still hooked up and can be auditioned if youre local to the area. Overall good condition. A few nicks in the veneer and some light fading from the sun. Due to the size and weight and the fact that I do not have original shipping cartons, in person pickup is best option. I can facilitate shipping if necessary, but the speakers are quite large and heavy, so shipping will be costly. Im in the Seattle, WA area, and willing to deliver locally within reason for free. I am selling my Snell HCC 500 center channel speaker. This speakers works perfectly and is in excellent condition. These Snell were the first consumer speakers to be THX certified, and they remain some of the best speakers available for home theater. Famously, Snells Music and Cinema speaker line (of which these are a part) was used in the $6,000,000 home theater system: https://www.cnet.com/tech/home-entertainment/shock-and-awe-a-6-million-home-theater/ (copy and paste the link). THX is a company founded by George Lucas. When he came to realize that his movies were being played at theaters with poor audio quality, he decided to do something about it. He released THX certification for commercial cinemas the same year he released Return of the Jedi. After that, THX grew to become the movie standard around the world, and THX certification held a lot of weight. THX-certified surround sound systems had to be capable of sustaining 85 dB over the entire movie, as well as being capable of hitting peaks of up to 105 dB, all while maintaining very low distortion. The speakers also need to be able to disperse sound very precisely. The HCC500 is a part of Snells Music and Cinema (M&C) line of speakers from the 1990s. This speaker is designed to be a horizontal match for the LCR500. The THX certification that these speakers bear tells you that the Snell LCR 500 and matching HCC 500 are capable of all of this. The LCR 500 and HCC 500 are a 2-Way design with two 6.5 woofers and two tweeters. The dual woofer design allows these speakers to handle the bottom of the audio range with low distortion. The dual woofer design also adds to maximum output capabilities of these speakers. The tweeters are lined up very specifically so that you will have perfect sound dispersion when listening. The HCC 500 is identical to the LCR 500, other than the fact that the tweeters are rotated. It is extremely important to have the tweeters stacked horizontally in order to achieve proper sound reproduction. The tweeters are distanced very precisely so that you do not have sound wave cancellation. Also, these speakers all have the original felt absorption panels surrounding the tweeters to absorb the sound waves that otherwise would refract off of the front baffle of the speakers. The tweeters also have an adjustable potentiometer on the rear so you can adjust the high frequency level to complement your listening environments acoustic properties. In addition to this, there is a 2A 250v fuse to protect the tweeters from any damage. The cabinets are rock solid, weighing in at 25lbs per speaker. There is no question about the quality construction of these speakers. All of this engineering went into these speakers to ensure that they project sound according to George Lucas original THX standards. This particular speaker is in excellent condition. The grill is intact with no tears. The tweeters and woofers all work perfectly. It is important to note that many Snell speakers of this series have woofers that have sustained cone separation from the butyl rubber surrounds over the years. I personally repaired the woofers on this speakers and they work flawlessly once again. The cabinet has an authentic wood veneer which is in excellent condition. As previously mentioned, the felt tweeter absorption panels are perfectly intact and are very clean. The potentiometer for the tweeters has recently been cleaned with Deoxit and the 2 amp, 250 volt fuses for the tweeters is in perfect condition, having never been blown. There are two listening modes for this speakers, which is the reason for the four gold-plated binding posts on the rear. One pair is to be used for Normal Operation and one pair for Compensated operation. The Compensated operation allows you to compensate for something such as placing these speakers behind an acoustically transparent screen or directly against your wall. I have shipped speakers across the world and will package this center channel with the same great care I always use. I will pay for full insurance just in case the shipping company damages the package.
