Description
Up for sale is my little used SMSL VMV D1se DAC. I bought this new last year and really enjoy it when I listen to digital. One of the best features is its ability to offer many different sound profiles. I typically switch between the default and Tube 1. Its really like having many DACs in one. This has been reviewed many places and I think its one of the nicer features. The DAC also offers balanced outputs, which is how I ran it into my Schiit Freya. Its a super quiet DAC and sounds superb. Of note regarding this DAC is that it can also serve as a system preamp. I never had the need for that, but for someone who wants a smaller setup, pairing this with something like SMSLs A1 class A amplifier would offer some stunning sound quality in a small package. All this said, the reason I am letting this go is that 99% of my listening is vinyl. For those rare times when I stream Qobuz, or play a CD, my Bluesound Node is good enough. The unit is almost always on standby and has few hours of actual use. I put some rubber feet on mine because the spikey things they provide with it and the little metal pads are totally useless. Its so difficult to setup that way and serves no audible purpose, so rubber feet are the way to go. Included in the original box are the metal remote, Bluetooth antenna, manual, USB cable, and spikes/pads. As I said, there are many excellent reviews on this DAC that youll find with a quick search. I am sure there are super high end DACs out there that sound better, but, by all accounts, this one sounds superb and youd have to spend a lot more to top it. I can vouch for the sound. Its dead quiet and the dynamics are excellent. I will ship free, insured.
