This is a Drake filter SL-1800 used in the Drake TR-7 / TR-7A transceiver or the R-7 / R-7A receiver. This filter was optional when purchasing the Drake equipment and was intended to be utilized for listening to SSB signals. Drake sold their 7 line transceiver and their receiver with a 2.3 KHz filter installed, but this wide bandwidth becomes problematic when trying to selectively tune signals in a crowded band.
