Description
I have finally decided to sell off my excellent gear due to irreversible hearing loss. This particular ad is for my Simaudio Moon 700i integrated amp. Photos available on request. I will also list my Martin Logan Summit X speakers and Simaudio Moon 380D Neo DAC. The synergy among these three components has been little short of breathtaking, but I cant appreciate it any more. I tried many amps and integrated amps with my Martin Logans, and the Simaudio Moon 700i was the only one that REALLY made them sing! I never tried another DAC, but I ran a Wyred4Sound music server and CEC CD transport through mine with fantastic results. Those two pieces are going to my son, so not for sale.I will also be selling several sets of high quality interconnects, power cords, and some excellent Cardas speaker cables (about12 in length).Willing to consider reasonable offersMy pricing is based on the audiogon blue book most recent sales (with condition considered), and I come in a little below their recommended selling price. Buyer pays for shipping; Ill split the paypal charge, but would prefer the free friends and family option.I prefer local pickup, but will ship at buyers expense. I will only charge what I have to pay for shipping, no more than that.Near mint condition and has been in a stereo cabinet away from direct light in a smoke free house.I would welcome package deal offers and would reduce price for multiple items purchases.Martin Logan Summit X. Blue book for condition 9: $6999. My price: $6250, OBOSimaudio Moon 700i. Blue book for condition 9: $4775 (already a steal). My price: $4250. OBOSimaudio Moon 380 D. Blue book for conditin 8: 1800. My price for condition 9: $1750.I have two excellent 6 PS Audio power cords that I used for the speakers. Id throw them in for an additional $200 to anyone buying the speakers. I would include them for free in a package deal.Photos do not do justice to equipment, which has no flaws. Please contact me with any questions. Check my ad for the Martin Logan Summit X electrostatic speakers. This Simaudio 700i is the only amp Ive had that brings out their best. Check the conclusion to the Stereophile review!! Conclusion Each of us, even the most seasoned reviewer, has listening biases; thats why, occasionally, we explicitly point them out. But what usually goes unrecognized is that these biases are often a product of the equipment weve heard, liked, and bought over the years. At some point, you hear a terrific amp (or pair of speakers, or whatever) thats especially brilliant at, say, capturing fast transients or painting a precise image. You conclude that you prefer gear that does those things, and you tend to sniff a bit at gear that doesnt. Once in a while, you come across a component that doesnt quite meet the highest standard of that particular trait but comes close, while setting new standards (at least compared with other gear youve heard) for traits that you value highly but have taken pretty much for granted until now. Thats what happened with me and Simaudios Moon Evolution 700i. Will I toss aside the Krell FBI and install the 700i full-time instead? I dont know; Im still a bit up in the air about that. The fact that Im even considering such a step is significant; its a sound of surprise.
