Description
Shipping to USA addresses only. Dont bid if you dont have an address in the USA. Contact me if you have a secondary address in the USA (this way I can ensure your bid wont be automatically blocked). I do NOT use stock photos or canned descriptions. The vast majority of buyers want to see an items actual condition, not glossy photos from the manufacturers site. You can find the manufacturers description and specifications via online searches. Pictures may include test equipment, cables, connectors, and auxiliary equipment that are NOT a part of the auction. Read the description carefully so you know exactly what you are bidding on. This listing is for one UNUSED Shure V15 Type III Super Track Plus moving magnet (MM) phono cartridge with its original hyperelliptical (HE) stylus. This phono cartridge, as with the tonearms and turntables Ive listed during the past month or so, belonged to a friends late husband. My friend entrusted me with the sale of her husbands audio components. This is the very last of the phono cartridges Ill be listing, but please keep an eye on my forthcoming auctions for related items. Back to the Shure V15 Type III phono cartridge... Please view all photos carefully, as they are better descriptors than my writing. This Shure phono cartridge was, to my knowledge, the very top-of-the-line Shure cartridge and stylus at the time of its manufacture. You can find replacement styli, but Im guessing 99.9% of them are aftermarket / third-party components, not OEM. This rare find is 100% Shure, stylus included. And better yet, it has never been used. As you can see from photos, it was carefully removed from its packaging. The outer carton and its clear plastic sleeve show very light wear from years of being stored and moved a few times. I didnt break any seals to open the carton, and wanted to confirm all components and the the original HE stylus were intact. This is a rare find, and it will be carefully packed for transport. Specifications and reviews for the Shure V15 Type III-HE should be easy to find online. I did a bit of digging (Vinyl Engine and elsewhere). One particularly favorable review reads: If there is one single MM cart proving that a MM can by all ways beat most of costly MC cartridges, vintage or new, its the Shure V15 III. I have used it with a lot of different styly. Even with the basic stylus, it delivers an impeccable neutral, dynamic, precise, balanced sound from bass to trebble. [The word trebble, as I just looked up, is an obsolete spelling of treble. Other notes: The word styly pertains to style and is not the plurar for stylus. The plural of stylus is styluses or styli--take your pick.] I also found, Within the Shure V15 cartridge series, there are those who consider the Type III as the most special in terms of natural musicality and sound stage as well as specifications for the Shure V15 Type III-HE: - Output voltage at 1000 Hz, 5cm/sec.: 3.5 mV within 2 dB from each channel - Frequency response: 10-25,000 Hz - Tracking ability at 315Hz at recommended tracking force: 70 µm - Stylus type: Hyperelliptical nude diamond - Tracking force range: .75-1.25 g - Internal impedance, DC resistance: 1,350 ohms - Internal inductance: 500 mH - Recommended load resistance: 47 kOhm - Recommended load capacitance: 400-500 pF - Net weight: 6.4 g - Replacement stylus unit: VN35HE Quick update (September 27, after AM coffee): One viewer kindly pointed out that I didnt show the cantilever and stylus. Yep, having the stylus guard down sort-of obscured those important elements. I didnt take microscope photos because I didnt want to remove the stylus assembly from the body; i.e. I didnt want to risk damaging an otherwise UNUSED Shure Type III-HE Super Track phono cartridge. I did, however, take a few photos so you can see the stylus and cantilever. Thank you for viewing! Im batting 100% positive feedback after nearly two decades of buying and selling on eBay. I kindly leave positive feedback for those who do the same. Some recent feedback (as a seller) includes: Possibly the best seller on eBay Ive dealt with. Highly recommended. / An extremely helpful seller! Thank you for everything. / Great seller! An expert in sound measurement. Very responsive to questions. Prior to my current username, I had over 2000 combined selling and buying reviews with 100% positive feedback (Ive changed my username once or twice over the many years). I do not entertain best offers, nor do I end auctions early. Item will be sold to the high bidder (heck, a single bidder might get a fantastic deal). My auctions are old-fashioned auctions--the way they ought to be. Payments must be received within 72 hours after end of auction. Items not paid for after 72 hours will be re-listed. No returns (buyers remorse shouldnt be the sellers responsibility--see * below). Nothing in this listing is misleading. Photos are an integral part of the description: View all photos carefully. If something isnt clear, write before you bid. I pack items with great care--the same way Id like to receive a delicate or valuable item. Like other sellers, I do not have control over shipping costs or carrier delivery time. Small- and medium-sized items will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Large parcels will be shipped via UPS Ground. Unlike Jeff B, neither eBay nor I operate our own shipping services--this means no prime or overnight shipping. *Heres why I no longer accept returns: Too many bidders with buyers remorse had intentionally damaged perfectly good equipment in order to receive a return. In other instances, buyers were simply incompetent: Equipment was damaged because these buyers did not know how to properly use it; yet, they wanted refunds because of the damage they caused. Bottom line: NO MORE RETURNS! If the wrong item is shipped (I have yet to do this), I will promptly exchange the item and pay for shipping to-and-from the buyer. Please understand what youre buying is USED (unless its clearly stated as new). RE electronics equipment: I encourage all viewers to compare my listings to other sellers listings and photos: If a printed circuit board is on anything other than an ESD mat, then the seller doesnt know how to exercise appropriate ESD precautions. Many electronic devices are easily compromised or destroyed due to improper handling. I use appropriate ESD protection measures when handling static-sensitive equipment. Items that are ESD sensitive will be shipped in anti-static wrapping.
