Der Nadeleinschub besitzt eine Art Antiresonator, der den Frequenzgang begradigt, das Bürstchen vorne verhindert Lateralresonanzen, statische Aufladungen wie „Knacksen“ und durch die Silikonöldämpfung Schutz vor zu schnelles Aufsetzen, zusätzlich ist der Diamant hyperelliptisch geschliffen. Der Klang ist meiner Meinung nach musikalischer als das vom Typ III, es lief selten in meinem Zweitlaufwerk Dual 701 und nur mit audiophilen Klassik Vinyls. Die die Auflagekraft sollte mit ausgefahrenem Dämpfer auf 1,5 p eingestellt werden, eine Empfehlung der Fachzeitschrift HiFi-stereophonie. Im Moment ist das System auf einem klassischen Dual Tonkopfträger montiert, kann aber jederzeit auf 1/2 Zoll universell ummontiert werden! Up for bid is a vintage Shure V15 Type V-B cartridge attached to a head shell. The original stylus is present however it is broken as the needle is completely gone. I took this off of a turntable that is in good working order because replacement of the stylus is too costly. Because of the broken stylus, this cartridge is untested however it appears to be in good shape with no signs or corrosion around the contacts. SHURE V15 TYPEIII white letters + JICO compatible needle + Aluminum headshell is FR-S/2 made by Fidelity-Research. This head shell has a large finger rest and is easy to use. I like the fidelity-research that is hammered into the finger rest, and I owned several of them. I forgot the type of lead wires, but I installed good sounding ones. The cartridge is a white letter type of the early-mid type, with a JICO compatible needle. I think the appearance is clean with few stains for its age. I forgot the model number of the JICO needle, but I think the needle tip is in good condition. I checked the sound with 1g needle pressure and both left and right side sound beautiful without any distortion. I have a VN35MRB of the Basie model and I feel that the sound is a little better. The overhang adjustment is set at about 2.0 in. from the tone arm mounting point to the needle tip. Please check the installation manual and adjust the screw holes before use.
