They produce both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges and have supplied product to other renowned audio companies throughout the world: such as Townshend Elite, Garrott Brothers, Goldring and Hana as well as many other well known Japanese and European companies. ES-70EX4 is their premier moving magnet cartridge and a genuine masterpiece. Notably, Garrott Brothers adopted it as a basis for their prestigious and acclaimed P77i and Optim S2 cartridges. Stylus is state-of-art: utilising SHIBATA grain oriented nude diamond, with a cantilever and suspension of equivalent refinement. Combined with a patented magnetic circuit, the cartridge achieves stunning quality of sound and imaging (soundstage replication) to realize a sense of outstanding naturalism and emotion from vinyl records. Being both medium compliance (20 cu) and weight (5.0 g) it will match well with any good quality tonearm, vintage or modern, of medium effective mass (8 -14 grams). However, for whatever reason, the EX-70EX4 is intrinsically an exceptionally stable tracker and should prove to be amazingly tolerant of any competent arm with which it is partnered. Audio Technica at-vm95sh cartridge with AT headshell. Shibata stylus. This is an excellent cartridge and stylus pairing for a bargain buy now price. Extremely clean and balanced sound, detailed and musical. The reviews are excellent, including a Hi-Fi Choice recommended product. It is widely regarded as a bargain considering the advanced stylus profile- this version sells at 200+. The headshell means its plug and play on any compatible turntable. This sounded great on my Technics 1210gr but soon after I bought this I was given a (much more expensive) MC cartridge so I rarely us it. I put less than 30 hours on it and AT say it should last for 800. The AT VM 95 range allow for easy replacement of styli, so experimenting with a microline, nude, elliptical or conical for older records is simple. These tend to sell for more than Im asking for here - you wont find a better upgrade to your sound for anything like the price.
