You are bidding on a Sherwood Model S5000II tube type stereo amplifier. It is offered for repair. It is fairly clean, appears to be complete and unmodified, but is untested by me. There is some slight corrosion on the top of the chassis, as it has no cover. I received this with no tubes and added the four 7591a and six 12AX7s. Two of the 7591s test good on the Amplitrex, and the other two are usable, but marginal. I did not test the 12AX7s, they came from a group I just discovered that I had gathered about 25 years ago. It does not have the four tube shields, but otherwise is complete. The front panel and controls are nice. It measures 14 by 4 inches at the front panel, and is 12 1/2 inches deep. It is a quality amplifier that deserves to be restored and put to use. (I use an identical amp in my system). Shipping weight is 29 pounds. No shipping to China. D Vintage Sherwood S-3000 V Tube FM Multiplex Stereo Radio Tuner for Repair Tuner will need some repair. Tuner powers on and works well in mono mode. There is significant noise / static in stereo mode, the level control does not work. The tuning meter responds and the stereo indicator lamp turns on. Some of the included tubes tested weak. Tuner may need new tubes, capacitors, and other service. No guarantee of functionality due to age. Faceplate has some dirt and wear. The finish on the metal frame around the faceplate is worn. Vintage Sherwood S5500 ii Integrated Tube Amplifier W/ housing. 64WATT. VG Condition.. CLEAN W/Original Owners Manual as pictured. The reason I am asking top dollar for this amplifier is because it is in mint condition! Cosmetically it literally looks like I got it off the show room floor! There are no scuffs or scratches on this unit nor is there anything wrong with it to my knowledge. I am reluctantly selling it to use the money to put down on newer tube amp called a Willsenton R8. I have only used aux 1 and phono inputs. The phono inputs are extremely powerful. Volume knobs have been cleaned with electro wash, but other than that that’s all I have done to the unit! The tubes all work and were tested by the person that sold it to me. I have ran the unit at a 4 ohm and an 8 ohm load and unit performs great. This unit is a tube amp and you get a true 64 watts. I recommend turning the Gain up a little over half way and using the loudness knob to adjust volume. This unit has a lot of bass and can cause a tube rumble if the turntable is on the same shelf as the amplifier. All sales are final unless the unit is damaged in shipping heaven forbid. I will make sure to professionally pack this amplifier and box it up with all precautions taken. I will have the tubes labeled with drawings showing which location the tubes have been previously operating in. I will also individually pack each pre amp tube and the two smaller output tubes and have them labeled. I am going to leave the large output tubes inside the amplifier because it’s the safest best place for them.
