This is a recently repaired by Schiit Gungnir Multibit DAC in SILVER that’s all the latest spec (Unison USB, updated analog boards) It’s still sealed in the box, I haven’t opened it since receiving back from Schiit Schiit was AWESOME and did the repair for free (replaced a choke), even though it was out of warranty. No I haven’t verified functionally I’m assuming Schiit did their job. If not, I’m sure they’ll make it right. Really great company. Decided to offer for auction as I’ve moved on to the Yggdrasil (and I need the money to help pay for it) Basically brand new and recently serviced in California!

This is the latest revision of the Gungnir Multibit before Schiit discontinued the model. Sounds great; no issues at all; its basically brand new. The serial number of this unit indicates that it is from one of the final Gungnir MB lots, which were built without VCXO-based clock regeneration (VCO-only) due to lack of parts availability. I was not aware of this until today and purchased this unit a year ago for a second audio setup in a different room. The main setup featured a MB Gungnir with a B-based serial number, which I sold recently. I did some extensive testing upon the 2nd units arrival and used the two interchangeably for almost a year. I noticed absolutely no differences between the two units with the exception of aesthetics: this units source selector button has a brushed finish, and the original units button was polished to match the Mjolnirs volume knob. They performed identically in my testing. However, if for some reason you absolutely must have VCXO clocking, its best to look elsewhere.

This is the rare Schiit Gungnir DAC, multibit and with Schiits proprietary Unison USB input. I am the second owner of this unit- it was purchased last year on Reverb and had about 10 hours of music playback put on by me. Excellent sounding and excellent condition. Ships with power cord and manual.

I bought this on a whim, having heard it quite some time ago and being impressed, but it turns out that audio is not always a straightforward venture and the gear I have now does not pair with it nearly as well as the gear I had then. Or, it just sucks. Probably not. I dunno. This unit has been very well-cared-for and includes all of its original packaging and accessories. I could not detect a single scratch anywhere on the unit with either my eyes nor my camera. The box is in good shape as well. I am the second owner and used it for about a week before deciding I liked my previous DAC better. I have also included a set of right angle XLRs for tight-space matching with Mjolnir, or any other amp that would stack well with the unit. Please beware that these interconnects have cast metal terminations and will stick out below the bottom of the DAC, and have to hang off the edge of a desk or table. The US voltage power cable is not pictured, but is included. This DAC is a bit forward sounding so I would suggest pairing it with something a bit on the laid back side, like a modded HD800 or DT880-600 + tube amp, HE-500, SR-007, etc. Avoid things with upper midrange anomalies like HE-400/SR-Lambda series, HD6x0, or Audeze LCD series. Bonus points for headphones without significant ringing. I am open to offers, but the box is quite large so I am not looking to ship this device overseas.
