This is a rare Sansui AU-D907 Limited, which is a special limited edition of the AU-919 (Sansui exported the regular version of the AU-D907 as the AU-919.) It has been fully restored. This Limited model takes the AU-919 and pushes it to the next level of craftsmanship, with improved performance and sound quality. Sansui’s goal when creating this model was to unleash every ounce of potential from the AU-919’s original design. Upgrades include a wood cover (reducing magnetic interference), enhanced version of the Diamond Differential circuit, a pure copper over solid brass chassis, bronze baseplate for the power supply (transformers and main filter capacitors), and upgraded outputs and driver transistors compared to the AU-919. More details below: In order to achieve maximum performance, we have changed the cases of the pure oval and coupling capacitors from aluminum to resin cases (reduces interference), and have also adopted fast recovery diodes for all rectifier diodes. To further enhance the effect of the pure oval capacitors, a 1.2 mm thick brass plate is used for the chassis of the power supply section, which is advantageous in terms of sound quality and interference minimization. Non-ferrous linear high-speed element LAPT (Linear Amp. Power Transistors) are used in two parallel connections, further improving the diamond differential circuit. The LAPT is made of pure copper. By making the bonding wires nonmagnetic, the generation of magnetic distortion is eliminated. This greatly improves the cut-off frequency and broadens the band, while improving the linearity of current amplification factor and switching characteristics. This enables a high response speed of ± 300 through rate of ± V / ? sec and suppresses the occurrence of TIM distortion to nearly 0! The power supply section has been strengthened to create even faster high-speed response. In the power supply system, a complimentary service push-pull (shunt) regulated circuit has been newly adopted in place of the conventional constant voltage circuit. This circuit guarantees a stable voltage supply not only when the voltage drops but also when the voltage rises, enabling more stable power supply. A large toroidal transformer and a large EI transformer are used for the power transformer, and a power cord with a current capacity of 15A for 200W amplifier class is used for the power cord. The AU-D907 Limited’s Diamond Differential DC circuit in the power amp and phono equalizer offers one of the widest frequency ranges ever achieved in audio - extending from zero Hz (DC) to an amazing supersonic high of 500,000Hz! As you can see in the pictures, it is in VERY good condition. There are a few little scuffs, nicks in the wood cover, etc, but nothing at all substantial. It sounds AMAZING, and the controls work crisply and cleanly. I’ve not had a chance to polish it up, but I will do so before shipping.
