Rarely available, made in Japan Sansui, AU-5500. Works and sounds great! However… Tested, and all six inputs (phono, tuner, aux one, aux two, tape one, tape two) working. All three tone controls working. Loudness and muting working. However… I am getting some static and cackle, when I am changing the volume, or the tones. In addition, when moving the selector from phono to tuner to aux 1 to aux 2, I sometimes need to ‘jiggle’ the selector button ever so slightly, to get clean, clear output. Cosmetics are very good. Certainly not mint, but highly presentable. Please do see the photos, and you will note a few of the selector switches are bent. No impact on functionality. Selling a vintage 1971-73 Sansui Stereo Amplifier Model AU-555A in its original found condition. Rare Estate Find. The estate was filled with high quality electronics and unique collectibles.The amplifier powers on and I noticed static when the volume was adjusted and no sound out of the right channel. No further testing or cleaning was completed. There are a few scratches on the metal and wood top is seperating in the back corner (see picture). All switches and knobs turn and operate properly. Will require cleaning and/or servicing for optimal performance. Selling in as is condition with no returns. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you will receive.
