The volume knob has a scratch on it, but other than that, there are no noticeable scuffs or scratches, and it is considered to be at a good quality level. If the volume knob is not scratched, I think it is a beautiful item, including age. There are no cracks on the side wood. The terminals on the back also had protective caps, so I think the gold plating is less tarnished. I have been using it with a balanced connection from a USB-DAC, and have also been using the RCA terminals with a tuner, etc., and have not noticed any problems.
