Sansui A-80 Vintage Integrated Amplifier. Fully restored and fully working. It is in great condition for its age. The aluminium front panel is virtually unmarked. The are some age related marks on the top and side pannels. see photos as they form part of the description. 65W/ CHANNEL WITH GREAT PHONO STAGE. It is ideal for small shelves with a space saving depth of thef only 22cm compared to the average of about 28cm See photos. FULLY SERVICED AND WORKING AS IT SHOULD. It has new original output transistors and new low ESR filter capacitors. It has has banana jacks fitted to the back for ease of connection to speakers. (They also take bare wires) In great cosmetic condition for its age. A few age related scuffs and marks. See photos as they form part of the description. This is a classic 1970s amplifier with a great look and fantastic warm sound. Buy with confidence. see my feedback. Bias current left and right set to manufacturers recommendation. Low DC offset on both channels. Equal output of left an right channel without clipping with line input at full volume confirmed. (See oscilloscope photo) All controls cleaned with Deoxit, so they work properly without cracking. Fully tested on all inputs and outputs. I have even fitted a speaker protection unit. (Most vintage amplifiers of this era such as this, did not have a speaker protection unit as on more modern or top of the range amplifiers. This means that you hear a bump on the speakers when turning on and the speakers are not protected from dc electrical surge if there is a short circuit of fault in the amplifier. This retrofitted circuit eliminates the bump on turn on and shuta off the speakers if the is a damaging DC electrical surge for son reason). The sound quality is not affected in any way. It has a very good quality phono (turntable) input , Tuner, Tape x2 and Aux inputs (can be used for any line input such as CD, etc. Description(From HiFi Engine) In the A-80, DC-Servo means sound thats pure as pure can be these days. All stages inside the power amplifier are direct coupled. All capacitors in the signal path are eliminated. Weve added nothing, thus lost nothing. There are no capacitors used that can add harmful colouration to music. No wonder sound is exceptionally clean in the A-80. The DC-Servo controls ultra-low-frequency signals (all those below 1 Hz) so that they cant reach your speakers. Which means you can, if you have to, play warped records and still hear good sound. Power output is a comfortable 65 watts per channel both channels driven into 8 ohms, all this from an OCL (Output Capacitor-less) true complementary circuit with a DC-Servo system, built around a dependable op-amp (operational-amp) IC, for good, clean, dependable performance.
