Der SAEC WE-308SX ist ein eher seltener Tonarm, den man besser nicht als Modifikation des Modells 308, sondern als eigenständige Version betrachten sollte, die vom Hersteller als Senior-Modell der 300er-Reihe positioniert wird. Zum Zeitpunkt seiner Veröffentlichung im Jahr 1978 kostete der SAEC WE-308SX 75.000 Yen, was doppelt so teuer ist wie der reguläre WE-308 und mehr als 10 % teurer als der später erschienene legendäre WE-407/23.
