Technics RS615-US – Stereo Cassette Player/Recorder I have owner this cassette player since new in 1979. It was a key part of my system at the time, but it has been in storage for about 35 years. See pictures for cosmetic condition. It powers up and all the cassette levers (Play. FF, Rev etc) push down and lock as they should. It has the original drive belts which are still intact, but could probably do with replacing. I have advertised it a ‘Spares or Repairs’ as I have no means of testing it, it may work but its likely to need TLC. No returns.

TECHNICS RS-615US VINTAGE RETRO AUDIO CASSETTE TAPE PLAYER / RECORDER / DECK - PLEASE READ This is a beautiful looking vintage Technics RS-615US Audio Cassette Tape Player / Recorder, released in the late 1970s, back when hi-fi components were built like tanks. With its solid aluminium faceplate and big VU peak output meters, this would make a gorgeous addition to any retro / vintage hi-fi rack. This is one of the decks with a unique loading mechanism that came in the period between horizontal and vertical loading mechanisms. This cassette deck is being sold as seen, for parts, spares, repair or restoration - as the drive belts need to be replaced. These are still available for purchase and on this model, are quite easy to replace - the main drive belt is accessed by removing the bottom panel as seen in the photos, the remaining two belts are for the counter mechanism and they are accessed via the top panel. The motor works fine and you can hear it spinning when play, forward or reverse are activated. The faceplate is in good condition for its age, the large record level control knob does have a couple of light scratches on it. As this is a used vintage electronic item, there may be things I have failed to pick up on during my appraisal. As a result of this, the age of the item, plus the items I have listed above, no warranty is given or implied, and the item is sold as seen with no returns.
