Rotel CD player plays wonderful, includes general control remote made for Rotel CD players. Great shape and condition.

Rotel RCD-855 cd player in very good cosmetic condition. This unit was my daily driver until the drive mechanism stopped working. This unit contains the famous Phillips TDA-1541A dual DAC chip. The unit powers on but the drive mechanism is not working. The rest of the unit was working perfectly until the drive unit stopped working. Working remote control included.

Ive owned this for a few years. Sounds beautiful but skips badly. It started about 9 months ago. I found an article about this model skipping due to a small plastic part (the pivot plate). I resurfaced it as the part is not available. It worked fine for a few months and started skipping again. I took that tiny plastic piece out and tried resurfacing it and it skips worse now. I believe that is the problem but its possible its more than that. No returns or refunds as this is a parts only sale. See the last picture.

This ROTEL RCD-855 is fully operational and in excellent condition. The sound quality is amazing. There are no significant scratches other than a small scratch on the top of the unit above the cd drawer (see photos for condition). Reason for selling: I purchased this recently and have enjoyed listening to my cd collection so much that I decided to switch to a CD Transport / DAC setup. As such I no longer need this unit. If you want a vintage CD player this is one of the best sounding ones in existence, clear, warm and full! This unit is in outstanding condition and was obviously very well cared for, other than a tiny scratch on the top it is in almost like new condition, the face plate is perfect. I bought it on a whim and havent really used it as much as I thought, and Im moving, so it should go to someone who will enjoy it more. It works perfectly, but there is no remote control.
