You will have to find one on CL or e-bay but they are great-sounding units and are built like a tank. They usually go for around $400 in nice shape, maybe a little more if it has the original remote. For some reason, most that show up on e-bay or CL lack the remote. I always wondered why so many people lose remotes. Rotel makes great CD players and Id highly recommend them. I have not checked out their new product line but I am sure it is equally impressive. Reviews Reviewed Dec 11th, 2019 by DickthewhiteOutstanding build quality, truly a tank. Controls are finely tuned and functions are excellent. Remote is handy. Display is spartan, but shows what is important. Program ability may be less sophisticated than some, but far less to go wrong. Nothing over-the-top with a superb machine. Play quality is impressive The most solidly-built 5-disc changer Ive seen in the while is the Rotel RCC-1055. $799 though. But the transport doesnt feel cheap and flimsy like Denon and Marantz and its one tank of a player if you must have a carousel. It also sounds great, which is the most important thing. It uses the same DACs and output stage as the single-disc RCD-1072, As far as 5-disc changers go, you really dont see anything higher-end than that. Dont you dare use a digital connection to the 1055! Analog connectors are the only way to go for a quality player like the 1055. I tried out a 1055 in my house for a week not too long ago. I plugged it into my two-channel system (Classe integrated amp, B&W Nautilus 804s). I did side-by-side comparisons with my three-year-old changer, a Marantz CC-67, using identical recordings and switching between inputs. The 1055 did sound better, and for the first time I noticed an enhanced presentation by HDCD discs. But I couldnt justify the unit because of its price. It was better than the Marantz, but not $750 better. Im sure youll love the 1055. I would vote for the Rotel, as they have a reputation for being a more musical component manufacturer. Ive read a lot of good stuff about the 1055, and wouldnt mind picking one up myself. Also, if you do hook it with a digital output and use the 5ESs DACs, then you pretty much just defeated the purpose of buying that good of a CD changer. Typically, you buy a CD player/changer that is more expensive for the DACs within the player. Just my thoughts. The RCC-1055 is the best current 5-disc CD changer out there. I tried it in my system and would have kept it except I decided I wanted a changer with SACD capability. For redbook CDs, however, your cant go wrong. Its very well built and of so smoothe.
