This RB-1552 MkII is a very clean unit. Basically looks new. It also performs very well. I connected it to my Bowers & Wilkins 702 S2 and found the soundstage to be large for a solid state amp, the detail is excellent. Compared to my Tubes4Hifi ST-120 tube amp, the sound coming out of this amp is sharper, thicker, and more in-your-face. Its also dead quiet while idling, thought it was turned off for a second. I bi-amp my speakers, however, and I still prefer my tube amp for the mids/highs. I was using this amp for the bass and found that it performed very well when paired with a preamp. Connecting it directly to my DAC made for more boomy, one-note bass. This power amp is really meant to be paired with a preamp for best bass performance. The build quality is also excellent! the signal and speaker connectors are of great quality. Looking at the components inside, you can definitely tell they are also high-quality, no non-sense. This amp is ready to rock for years to come! I decided to sell it, as a good integrated amp is good enough for my bass needs. Having separate power and preamps is good if youre not exclusively using it for bass like I am. I could also use the spare power outlet.
