Untitled Document Revox A77 MK III Suitcase Half (2) Track with Reels, Tape etc + 60 day Warranty Buy it now or make a very near best offer. This is a nice half (2) track stereo machine. It is the suitcase model with built in amplifiers and speakers. It has fixed operating speeds of 3¾-7½ i.p.s. ensuring good quality of reproduction. Made in Germany it is in good condition and fully operational. In addition it has had the two stage service and setup. The switch section and all front end function controls have been checked and cleaned. Both wind motors have been checked for adequate torque. Brakes have been cleaned/adjusted for efficiency and counter belts have been replaced and the counter is operational. The pinch roller has been conditioned and the capstan pressure set by means of a spring tension strain gauge. A new tape path guide bearing has been fitted. The 2nd. stage service comprises of final set-up, calibration and alignment. In the interests of safety: The machine has been electrically ‘Pats’ tested’ (by a qualified electrician). Faulty or suspect components have been replaced. The service work has been carried out by a qualified audio engineer using a variety of test equipment including an oscilloscope, sine wave generator, test tapes, tension gauges and industry standard R.T.S./A.T.U. test set etc. Operational Performance: The machine has been set up utilising the industry standard ‘MRL’ 233-352-482-1F0 reproducer calibration tape and the working set-up with the tape as indicated on the stage II service report. Whilst the machine is in the record mode switching between source input and tape output using new or good quality tape of the type used to calibrate as stated in the service report we guarantee there will be little or no variation in sound quality or level to the recorded signal at either 1KHZ or 10KHZ utilising a test tone or music as a source input. Whilst not claiming this machine would not benefit still further from ‘a specialist technician tweak/re-calibration’ for attaining desirable or further absolute fine tuning (bias/eq setup), desirable where tape of a buyers choice is used, there is little else required to enhance the quality of the sound in our opinion. It is difficult to hear how any significant improvement in performance could be achieved. That said the machine being vintage and used will not perform as a new machine, neither could it be classed as in concours cosmetic condition and we do not offer it for sale claiming it will. It will be subject to some fair wear and tear on all mechanical and associated components and fittings even though the unit has had a thorough service so please bear this in mind. Small variations and fluctuations in performance may also differ from the Manufactures original specification if analysed. We would be surprised if any listener other than one with unreasonable expectation or the most critically acclaimed hearing should find fault with the sound characteristics or operational performance of the machine whilst using the specified tape media. Technical info: Capstan speed has been locked as per Revox service manual to 800cps @ low speed as measured with an oscilloscope, VU meters have also been calibrated to show 0db at 0.775V input. Record levels have been calibrated so that source input and tape output are equal and balanced on both channels. All lamps – sensors – switch contacts and both V.U. meters have been tested and are fully operational. ‘Wow and flutter’ has been measured and recorded and is within the accepted figures as detailed in the service manual specification. Head azimuth has been checked and adjusted for maximum coarse and fine performance. All associated mechanical checks including appropriate cleaning and lubrication to bearings, guides motors etc. where appropriate, have also been completed. The heads have of course undergone the standard degaussing and final clean. Cosmetic Condition: Cosmetically the unit is in what we would describe as ‘very good used vintage condition. The cabinet surround & lid are in the main good accepting age related marks/blemishes/etc. There may of course be some other minor normal ‘wear and tear’ scratches/chips/wear marks and evidence of other minor repairs to all areas of the unit and of course the reels but only those one would reasonably expect with a used vintage machine of this age and type. Our pictures we trust you would agree are typically reflective of the condition with nothing deliberately hidden or omitted, so to gauge the overall condition please use these as your reference point. As stated earlier if in any doubt please request further clarification or additional specific area pictures prior to committing to your purchase thus avoiding any possible misunderstanding. General Condition: Overall this is a very nice example of an A77 MK III half (2) track machine. Our aim is to sell machines that sound good and operate as designed. The heads show low wear with lots of life still left to faithfully reproduce that warm analogue sound so distinctive to the Revox range. To our knowledge everything works as designed, with no major electronic or mechanical defects to report. Package Content: The machine comes with two used aluminium Cine reels, with used tape. on one reel The tape supplied is as stated used, therefore it will be of varying quality and make. It is useful only to get the buyer up and working. That said the tape supplied will be free from S.S.S. and be capable of basic music/speech recording. For absolute best results we recommend new or known good quality used tape of the type indicated in the service report is used by the buyer. Should the buyer require any help in securing any such tape we will be happy to help. Included is a modern type 3 pin mains power lead which has been suitably fused. There is a tape head cleaning kit, a microphone and input/output audio leads, so there is everything supplied, the buyer needs to at least get started with the machine without the need for immediate additional purchases. A completed Quality/Calibration check list is also issued. As a bonus, included free is a cd PDF of the operation and service instructions which should prove useful for the buyers perusal or for any future reference point. Payment Packaging and Delivery: Payment terms are strictly through the Ebay accepted payment methods with Courier delivery. DESCRIPTION Precision Transport Professional recordists know that for long-term stability and performance successful tape transport design must begin with the chassis frame itself. No matter how smooth-running the motors and highly-refined the heads, since both are referenced to the recorder’s frame, any long-or-short-term flexing or imprecise machining in the chassis will inevitably degrade performance. To achieve the required stability – at a weight compatible with home use – the Revox B77 uses a sturdy aluminum die-casting for the chassis, headblock, pinch roller and mechanism, and each mounting point is painstakingly machined for extraordinary tolerances. The Nextel-coated case around the transport provides a similarly sturdy layer of protection for the mechanism. Precision Three-Motors Drive Studer-Revox manufactures its own drive and winding motors so their characteristics can be optimized for recorder use. For example, when heavy reels must be started up from rest they must be fed initially with a higher starting voltage, which is gradually reduced via a triac circuit to normal running voltage. The entire operation must be entirely smooth or the tape could snarl or stretch. Studer motors and controls are one reason why our decks are so widely acknowledged to be the gentlest-handling you can own. The capstan motor employs a precision-machined set of teeth at the circumference of its motor. As the motor turns, these teeth create a series of pulses that are read by a tachometer head and whose rate is compared against the frequency of a stable internal oscillator. In this way, even very slightest speed variations are immediately detected through a fast-acting servo system. To reduce wow and flutter even further, the direct-drive capstan shaft is machined to an accuracy of one one-thousandth of a millimeter, is hard chrome-plated and is artificially aged during the manufacturing process to ensure long-term stability. Precision Heads And Electronics Studer tape heads – from 1 to 24 track models – are world-renowned and are designed and build in our own facilities. The head cores are made from a physically hard, magnetically soft metal allay called Revodur, which has nearly perfect electromagnetic qualities. Whether you purchase your B77 in a quarter- or half-track stereo format its heads will be built to the same standard of polish employed in our professional studio decks. The head nest of the B77 also contains space (1) for the inclusion of a fourth head, to be used for slide-projector synchronization or other audio-video control purposes, in addition to the regular erase, record play units. An infrared sensor within the head area (2) actuates automatic shut-off in the event of tape run-out or breakage. Three-Head Monitoring And Special Effects Because the record and playback heads of the B77 are individual, separate units, each can be optimized for its specific function. A narrow gap is employed for playback to extend the frequency response, while a wider gap is employed during recording to ensure full penetration of the oxide layer on the tape. Since the record and playback electronics are also separate, this permits you to monitor the recorded result a split-second later, making direct comparison possible to avoid the possibility of an unsatisfactory recording. The sophisticated electronics and separate heads of the B77 also permit various special recording effects. Precision Editing Facilities An accurate splicing block and non-magnetic sheertype cutter are build right into the front panel of the B77, encouraging creative tape editing. Additionally, a lever switch is included that activates the playback amplifiers during the fast-winding modes, and shifts their operation to a pulse-type control. In this way you can quickly shuttle back and forth between fast forward and rewind to find the exact point at which an editing cut is to be made. For even finer-pin pointing of critical cuts the reels can be rotated manually while the tape remains against the playback head.

2Spur Gerät in gutem Zustand.Die Maschine wurde vor ca.einem Jahr technisch überholt bei der einige Kondensatoren ausgetauscht,alle Potis und mechanischen Teile gereinigt und gegebenenfalls nachjustiert wurden.Alles funktioniert bestens.Die Aufnahmen sind super und voller Dynamic.Der Kopfspiegel ist minimal und liegt bei ca. 2 mm.Das Gehäuse weist einige kleinere Lackspuren auf,das Nextel klebt aber nicht.Auf den Fotos kann man den optischen Zustand der Maschine ganz gut erkennen. Als Extras wurden verbaut…..LED VU Meterbeleuchtung und eine rastende Pausenschaltung. Alternativ wäre auch ein Umbau des Gehäuses in weiß möglich. (Siehe Fotos) Inclusive gibt es auch die Bedienungsanleitung im Original.Persönliche Begutachtung und ein umfangreicher Test ist erwünscht,ein Versand ( nur innerhalb Deutschland)wäre Risikoreich und müßte in diesem Fall vom Käufer getragen werden. Ich würde aber super gepolstert verpacken.Die Nabs und die Spulen gehören nicht zum Angebot. Eine Garantie auf das Gerät schließe ich aus,versichere aber die Richtigkeit meiner Angaben.
