ReVox A77 Bandmaschine 4 Spur 4 Track Zum Verkauf steht diese schöne Bandmaschine. Es gibt äußerlich Gebrauchsspuren, oben ist eine Ecke am Gehäuse beschädigt (bitte Bilder beachten, diese sind Teil der Beschreibung). Das Gerät wurde getestet und das Abspielen mit Ton und Spulen funktioniert. Ob der Ton sauber ist, lässt sich nicht sagen, da uns keine gute Tonspule zur Verfügung steht. Beim Einschalten schlagen beide VU-Meter kurz aus und bleiben etwas ausgeschlagen stehen, deren Beleuchtung funktioniert. Das Zählwerk funktioniert nicht. Die Aufnahmefunktion wurde nicht getestet. Es gibt auch Kontaktproblem am Netzkabel, man muss etwas daran wackeln, damit die Maschine mit Strom versogt wird. Scheint ein Wackelkontakt zu sein. Aufgrund der bekannten Mängel und da noch mehr Mängel vorhanden sein könne, wird die Maschine ausdrücklich als defekt verkauft. Es ist uns nicht möglich, alles zu testen. The second of my two Revox A77 Mk3 2 track mono/stereo that I am selling to fund a full refurb of my Mk 4. The serial no. is 132644, making it a late Mk 3 German-built model, probably early-mid 1974. It works correctly in play mode, end of tape sensor and brakes are good (see demo video using a mono 2 track tape) but as with all complex electronic equipment of this age, it will require ongoing maintenance and it is sold as seen with no warranty and no returns. In response to a question about recording, I mostly use pre-recorded tapes, and earlier having tried to record on an old tape, it failed to do so but as I knew it had worked recently, I persevered with a different tape (BASF rather than EMI) and recording proceeded as normal-this may be related to bias set up or simply the age of the EMI tape, but tape compatibility issues are not unknown and the buyer may need to experiment. In summary, the unit does record-a new video has been made to demonstrate this. Note that it has a pre-amp board that permits headphone use but no power amps, so the external speaker sockets are redundant and it must be played through a conventional amp/speaker set up as per any tape deck. Cosmetically, it is very good indeed-the wooden case has a few marks as pictured, but the smoked storage cover has no breaks or cracks and while there are scuffs, there are no real unsightly scratches. The back plate is clean and unmarked as is the control panel, with all controls present and correct The aluminium hubs have been polished purely for appearance because I like them that way and are fitted with cine/trident locks-earlier pictures do not show these as they were removed for use with NAB adapters but the later picture and demo shows them in place. This is a Swiss-built A77 Mk 3 2-track (Stereo half track), the serial no. indicating a fairly early model, probably 1971-1972. It is the optional Koffer or suitcase version which has a larger cabinet with built in speakers, powered by the optional amp boards fitted on the deck and a very solid front cover that is much less prone to damage than the perspex models.   The casing is in excellent cosmetic condition with no damage to case or lid which fits and latches properly. The amps drive the speakers, there is some distortion to the right channel when used in stereo mode (see video for demonstration). Much of it the deck works, the essential relay board recapping has been done with the RIFA motor and X2 suppression capacitors replaced with the correct grade components, but there are notable issues as follows:From cold, the capstan motor can take some time to get up to speedThe take up reel brake strap shows some edge distortion and drifts in and out of position, sometimes causing binding in rewind-fast forward and play are not affected.The end of tape shut off sensor does not work-the lamp lights so it is likely to be the light dependent resistor at faultThe right channel distorts-this is likely to be an amp issue rather than heads as the issue is present on input monitoring as well as playback Beyond this, the deck plays and records as demonstrated, the VU meters work and levels can be set effectively. Switching from input monitoring to NAB while recording shows quite a drop off of high frequencies, so further servicing and calibration will be required to bring the unit up to spec, but the general mechanical and cosmetic condition would make it an excellent candidate for a full refurb.-I initially bought it as a donor machine for a Mk 4 restoration, but it is a bit too good to strip for parts. It will be sold with a mains lead fitted with the IEC C9 mains connector to fit the original socket and also the essential dummy plug for the remote control socket-do not buy an A77 without this!
