(Not pictured but power cable and replacement potentiometers for the front controls (taken from another mk IV A77) are also included, in addition to the front control knobs that are only in 1 picture) Here for sale is a wonderful piece of recording equipment - a factory high speed Revox A77 mk IV. Sadly it needs some tlc to be fully working! As you can see it is rather battered up, and the case is falling apart (although stays together ok with the machine in). When powered on play, fast forward and rewind appear to work but I cannot get any signal from the inputs or outputs (no VU meter movement either). All the potentiometer feel like they ought to be replaced but in particular the volume and balance ones are very bent and don’t seem to lock into place correctly. I’m not convinced they are working properly when turned on so it may be simple as swapping these to the replacements I am including in the sale (although I doubt it…) I have replaced the dreaded RIFA capacitors with suitable modern replacements so no worries about it blowing up on turning on. The heads look in good condition to me, but please study the pictures as I cannot make any guarantees. This would be a great donor machine or a fixer upper; everything looks to be ok inside from a visual look (from my basic electronics knowledge).
