FOR SALE A hardly used REL Acoustics Ltd Tzero MkIII hi-fi subwoofer in piano black gloss finish in fantastic, barely blemished condition. It has a 6.5 inch downward facing driver and utilises a quality D-class amplifier capable of delivering a 100 watts output. The size of this is: 216 x 241 x 260 mm (W x H x D) and 6.8 kg in weight, as stated on the website. After quite quickly upgrading my stand mount B&W speakers for a pair of Spendor A7 floorstanders, the need for a compact sub was not really required. Hence this is in superb, better than excellent condition and full working order. The pictures hardly do this justice, but the room reflections on the surfaces indicate just how fresh, clean and shiny they are. Lacking the usual marks and fine hairline ‘cleaning’ marks most acquire after time.

As stated, this is a small, compact, quite under-stated subwoofer, which is pleasing and non-obtrusive in any set-up. It is simply perfect for any stand-mount or bookshelf speakers to enhance bass which smaller units usually lack to some degree. Setting up is very easy indeed and works perfect placed next to either speaker as bass is not really directional. The bass response is easily adjusted using the rear controls until the desired amount is found. It can even be placed relatively near walls, but corner positioning is best avoided. This REL sub has an optional auto shut-down mode when not in use, and immediately kicks into life as soon as an audio signal is present. This small unit has a downward position driver and packs a real punch for its size, it works superbly in a stereo set-up or surround sound system, in which it will bring action movies to life along with the music. It includes its power lead and a major upgraded amplifier connector with Van Den Hul cable. This has the Neutrik high level interconnect to sub and three cable connectors to the amp that fit into standard jack speaker outputs, colour-coded so very simple to connect without error (as shown in the booklet). This cable is perfect for Naim amps, but can be used with any standard banana jack speaker terminal amplifiers. The amp connectors also have jack out speaker connectors, so no double wiring is required, it could hardly be more user-friendly and easy. I do not have the very long connector that came with the sub, but believe me, this upgraded VDH cable offers vastly superior sound and is more versatile for connection as well. NOTE: The length of this upgraded connector is approx 5.5 feet (1.5 metres), so to use this cable, the sub cannot be any further away from the amp than that. The original cable was much longer, and these are available on line or from REL, this upgraded, shorter cable was quite a lot more expensive than the basic REL cable – but well worth it – especially used with Naim amps. It can also be connected with a single jack-to-jack cable via an amplifier ‘sub-out’ output. I tried this once, but the sound quality was much lower and did even come close to using the high level Neutrik cable option, especially the VDH upgraded one I am including with the offer. This was purchased brand new from Sevenoaks (Witham) on August 18th 2021, the original delivery note to prove this is also included. It has been meticulously well looked after, and little used within a non-smoking, pet-free environment. I have the original box and packing, plus the quick start guide booklet seen in the photographs. I have also located an original Tzero owners manual which is the same as this latest MkIII version in terms of rear controls and connecting. One of the polystyrene package blocks is broken on the edge, but the unit still fits snugly inside the box putting the pieces back in place. So I am happy to post this (to the UK only) via a trusted courier service (UPS or TNT), but free collection can made if preferred, I could possibly deliver very locally, also free of charge if necessary. Delivery cost (UK only) via courier is: £30. NO OVERSEAS SHIPPING, all hi-fi units are delicate and fragile. Any questions, please ask.

It is fully functional and only has very faint hairline scratches as is common for piano black finishes (see pictures). Im selling this little sub because unfortunately, its too small for my system. It was purchased new from Rel. This sub has been tested only on a few occasions and only with music that didnt have a lot of heavy bass - so it hasnt been pushed hard or abused.
