Amazing pair of Rega RS1 speakers, with black piano finish. Two way speakers with crystal clear midrange, open airy highs. Low frequencies are clean and tight with no artificial bloat. The review hype is real. These speakers present a wide, spacious soundstage, and a sense of immediacy to the music, primarily due to very fast transient attack, these are quick speakers. You hear a lot of inner detail, which I like.Cabinets are in very good condition, including grills. Listening to Lady Be Good by George Gershwin as I write this. The measurements had already demonstrated that the RS1 has a very good bass alignment for close-to-wall siting..... Combine this with quite strong output through the upper mid and treble and the net result emphasises the speakers best features – its lively, dynamic and exciting especially with vocals and higher register instruments. One speaker cabinet has a small pressure indentation on the front and a little scuffing on one edge - these are purely cosmetic issues as the speakers are not new. Access to the lift very close for ease too.I just wanted a great set up to play my vinyl and this is truly fantastic in regards to sound quality. The speakers are also ideal for my home recording as theyre great studio speakers. I wont be accepting returns/refunds. But happy to answer any questions, but please bare in mind I am not very techy. None the less I can try to answer. When turned on I can tap the needle and hear it coming through the speakers. But the belt is not turning. I am not clued up on such things, but as a guess it might need a new motor.
