For PARTS/REPAIR Rega Planet CD Player Transport No Remote Non Functional --- Powers on but does NOT read CDs, Ill describe the behavior below but first noting observable condition issues, (a friend bought this at a thrift store so other than that I dont know anything about its past history, Ive never personally seen it working and I dont know how many hours etc its been used). --- A few things that caught my attention as far as condition goes: 1. NOTE the RUST on the two hex head screws in the front of the transport on the top deck that you can see when the lid is lifted. 2. NOTE the plastic fitting/grommet where the power cord comes out of the back of the player is broken and loose (the cord/plug itself is fine and has no repairs or damage) 3. Also NOTED the window on the lid looks hazy and foggy, I dont know if that should be clear (the foggy/hazy window just doesnt seem right). 4. When I was testing the player I noticed that the top spindle on the lid was WOBBLY, the disc was spinning normally in the transport, after it stopped spinning I pressed on that spindle to see if it wasnt properly seated and it seemed to improve but was still visibly not in a flat plane and was undulating etc (it didnt make any noises etc, just something I saw). 5. One of the rubber boots on one of the feet has come out of tjhe groove (each foot is composed of a rubber disc on the top and bottom with a rubber boot between them presumably covering some kind of suspension mechanism), I tried tucking the boot back in but it seems to just bulge out, probably from being stored like that for some time, the foot itself seems fine like the others. --- TESTING: If you put a CD in and press the Play button the display changes from 0 to 1 and the CD will spin for a few seconds, then the display goes back to 0 and the CD comes to a stop. If you then press play again it wont do anything, you have to power it down and turn it on again before you can get the play button to again go to 1, during that few seconds that the disc is spinning you can advance the track number, in my evaluation I advanced to track 4 and the transport moved in a manner like it was searching for a track (short revolution then stop then again moving etc), but regardless it just stops and goes back to zero again. --- I didnt do any cleaning to the exterior. Er lief einige Jahre an einer Zweitanlage,und ab und zu musste der Puck etwas justiert werden. Jetzt muss man evtl. das Gehäuse öffnen zur Reparatur oder Justierung, was jenseits meiner Fähigkeiten liegt. Ausserdem hatte der Vorbesitzer ein anderes Kabel montiert; das Originalkabel liegt bei, die Originalverpackung ist ebenfalls vorhanden, sowie die funktionierende Solar Fernbedienung.
