This fully functioning, well built and well reviewed DAC is in great operating and physical condition. The metal case is a 9 or 9+. The front face has some common (to the Rega brand) light swirl marks but which are only really noticeable close up. Dont know how it was implemented - probably using kind of giant magnetoresistive electricity... As it goes for the sound signature based on the measurements its rather neutral (as most of the DACs), but perceived as little bit on the warmer side with very enjoyable PRaT and midrange - voices, string instruments, violas etc sound marvelous! The sound is smooth and gives you long hours of listening without fatigue. Digital section is based on dual mono WM8742 chipsets. Verkaufe schweren Herzens diesen tollen stereo Digital-Analog-Converter (DAC) , der mich das Licht der Audiophilie erblicken hat lassen; erste Hand aus Nichtraucher-Haushalt. Das Gerät funktioniert noch immer einwandfrei, aber hat ggf leichte optische Gebrauchsspuren, die mir aber nie ins Auge gefallen sind. Die Bilder sind von gerade eben frisch gemacht und unverfälscht. Er kann bis zu 192 kHz @ 24bit verarbeiten; allerdings habe ich gemerkt, dass es für die verlustfreie Übertragung dieser hohen Werte höherpreisige Co-Ax-Digitalkabel vom Fachhandel benötigt. Via optisch digital konnte ich nie mehr als 96kHz-Musik fehlerfrei abspielen. 44kHz (CD) waren sowohl über den optischen-, als auch über den Co-Ax-Digitaleingang unproblematisch möglich. USB-In habe ich fast nie genutzt, also keine Angaben dazu von mir. Von den 5 Filteroptionen sagte mir Nr. 3 stets am besten zu. Rega Jupiter CD Transport + IO DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) Top Loader VGC Both units in superb condition with only minor marks. Both units in full working order. CDs play first time without issue, even some of my poor condition discs, so laser strong. There is no remote but i believe you can use a Rega Solar Remote, which often pop up on eBay. Beautiful all aluminium clamshell construction. Audiophile setup, paired with a nice amp the sound quality is sublime. Comes with the original Neutrik interconnects to connect the DAC to an AMP. I cant find the original interconnect to connect the transport to the DAC, but will include one i had in a drawer. Is fine but you may want to invest with something of higher quality. Need to note as well, as not everyone looking will know, a CD transport is different to a CD player. A transport doesnt output any audio, just the raw data off the CD. It is then passed on to the DAC which converts the data and outputs the audio to an amp. So these two units are a pair and work together. Both units will be packed into smaller boxes and then packed into a larger box to ensure safe shipping (double boxed)

Rega DAC-R Digital to Analogue Converter (Used) Item: Rega DAC-R (Used item - trade in) Item Description: We have taken this in on a trade in. We sold it to the owner new in 2016. It is in very good condition, all I can see is that there are two small blemishes on the top of the case near there rear (please see pics, but do be aware that these marks are much less obvious to the eye than the pictures suggest). The remote control still has its protective film on the front. The power cable, manual and packaging are included. Naturally it works perfectly and sounds great, its such a shame that Rega dont make an affordable DAC like this any more. I am listing it here at the minimum starting price and no reserve, so someone may get a bargain! Please do not ask us for a buy it now price, we prefer to let our auctions run. The DAC-R was the last stand alone DAC that Rega made. It is very well specified, with 5 digital inputs (1 x USB, 2 x RCA, 2 x Optical), 2 digital outputs (1 x coaxial, 1 optical), three switchable filters and a remote control. It is a 16/20/24-bit at 32kHz to 192kHz digital to analogue converter and is housed in a custom aluminium and steel case and boasts a pair of Wolfson DAC IC’s and three user selectable digital filters. The optical and coaxial input stage comprises a Wolfson digital receiver with a high stability, low jitter clock driving the receiver PLL. The receiver and PLL have their own dedicated power supplies. The DAC stage comprises a pair of parallel-connected Wolfson WM8742 DAC’s, that are driven via a buffer stage, which ensures the integrity of the data being fed to the DAC IC’s similar to the arrangement used in the Isis reference CDP. The USB input stage is comprised of a bit perfect XMOS USB Audio 2.0 with asynchronous clocking. The USB input stage feeds the Optical and Coaxial input stage via an isolating transformer giving total isolation from the host computer. The output stage employs a discrete differential, multiple feedback filter and output buffer, with a high cut-off frequency for use with higher sample rates. We decided not to use a sample rate converter and process the data at the incoming sample rate which keeps the signal processing to a minimum. Jitter was minimised by synchronously clocking the digital data with our receiver PLL (removing any jitter from the input signal). All the capacitors associated with the analogue signal path are audio grade bypassed with MMK polyester capacitors, and low impedance conductive polymer capacitors are used for DAC decoupling. The power supply utilizes a toroidal transformer, fast rectifier diodes and again audio grade capacitors. There is a power supply for the control micro controller, separate from the digital & analogue audio stages. Special attention being paid to the inter IC control signals ensures the control data noise is kept to a minimum.
