This Apollo - R CD player has been in my second system and has seen lighter use. Please seek reviews on-line for technical information. See photos regarding its physical condition. This player is built like a tank (about 9.5 lbs.), sounds good, looks wonderful with its satin finish and has been very reliable for me. The front faceplate is really nice. There is a light scratch on the lid which looks worse in the photo. From a front angle it does not look bad at all. Its 8.5 width makes it flexible and easy to place in your system. In one of the photos of the front panel it shows the word initialising. When a new disc is inserted, it reads the disc and this sometimes takes up to 10 seconds. This is normal and does not mean there is a malfunction. The Apollo will ship with its remote, which does show signs of wear but works well, a generic power cord and its original box and packaging. The Badge on the left front face panel is missing ???? For PARTS/REPAIR Rega Planet CD Player Transport No Remote Non Functional --- Powers on but does NOT read CDs, Ill describe the behavior below but first noting observable condition issues, (a friend bought this at a thrift store so other than that I dont know anything about its past history, Ive never personally seen it working and I dont know how many hours etc its been used). --- A few things that caught my attention as far as condition goes: 1. NOTE the RUST on the two hex head screws in the front of the transport on the top deck that you can see when the lid is lifted. 2. NOTE the plastic fitting/grommet where the power cord comes out of the back of the player is broken and loose (the cord/plug itself is fine and has no repairs or damage) 3. Also NOTED the window on the lid looks hazy and foggy, I dont know if that should be clear (the foggy/hazy window just doesnt seem right). 4. When I was testing the player I noticed that the top spindle on the lid was WOBBLY, the disc was spinning normally in the transport, after it stopped spinning I pressed on that spindle to see if it wasnt properly seated and it seemed to improve but was still visibly not in a flat plane and was undulating etc (it didnt make any noises etc, just something I saw). 5. One of the rubber boots on one of the feet has come out of tjhe groove (each foot is composed of a rubber disc on the top and bottom with a rubber boot between them presumably covering some kind of suspension mechanism), I tried tucking the boot back in but it seems to just bulge out, probably from being stored like that for some time, the foot itself seems fine like the others. --- TESTING: If you put a CD in and press the Play button the display changes from 0 to 1 and the CD will spin for a few seconds, then the display goes back to 0 and the CD comes to a stop. If you then press play again it wont do anything, you have to power it down and turn it on again before you can get the play button to again go to 1, during that few seconds that the disc is spinning you can advance the track number, in my evaluation I advanced to track 4 and the transport moved in a manner like it was searching for a track (short revolution then stop then again moving etc), but regardless it just stops and goes back to zero again. --- I didnt do any cleaning to the exterior. I can see dust etc on the case and inside the top deck fins etc. --- The lid hinges feel fine. --- The only thing Ive seen on the display are track numbers, no other display elements could be tested. --- No original box, just the player as shown, years ago I was an audio nut and have shipped a lot of equipment over the decades, I pack so the box can be dropped onto concrete etc. --- See photos for condition details. --- Will be well packed --- See shipping options above --- Payment expected within 3 days of purchase (contact me if you need more time). --- The item description is guaranteed to be accurate but all items are sold as-is unless otherwise stated. --- I dont have a way to arrange for a local pick-up of this item, Im sorry for the inconvenience
