Description
1.5M pair of AudioQuest Red River XLR to XLR Interconnect. I dont have the opriginal box but will ship safely and securely. Solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) ConductorsSince the beginning,AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, yet even we were surprisedby the huge leap in performance attained through the astonishingly smooth andpure surface of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). Proprietary metal-processing technologyprotects the wires surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. Whenhigh-purity low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, itbecomes a wonderfully low-distortion conductor. In a conventional cable, electrical and magnetic interaction between strands is one of the greatestsources of distortion, often causing a somewhat harsh, dirty sound. Solidconductors are fundamental toward achieving a very clean, natural sound. Direction-Controlled ConductorsAll drawn metalstrands or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grainstructure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so thatnoise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. The correctdirection is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used inevery AudioQuest audio cable. When applicable, arrows are clearly marked on theconnectors to ensure superior sound quality. For most models of AQ cable, thearrows not only indicate the direction that optimizes metal-directionality aspart of Noise-Dissipation, but also indicates non-symmetrical attachment ofshield and GND in order to optimize full-system performance. A fundamentalaspect of AudioQuests multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology,Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drainedproperly. Metal-Layer Noise-DissipationIts easy toaccomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured radio-frequencyinterference (RFI) from modulating the equipments ground reference requiresAQs Noise-Dissipation. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and thendrain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting thecritical reference ground plane, which in turn causes a distortionof the signal. Noise-Dissipation shields the shield, absorbing andreflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached toground. Hard-Cell Foam InsulationHard-Cell Foam (HCF)Insulation ensures critical signal-pair geometry. Any solid material adjacentto a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation andcircuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and thenreleased as distortion. Hard-Cell Foam Insulation is similar to the Foamed-PEused in our more affordable Bridges & Falls cables, and isnitrogen-injected to create air pockets. Because nitrogen (like air) does notabsorb energy and therefore does not release any energy from or into theconductor, distortion is reduced. In addition, the stiffness of the materialallows the cables conductors to maintain a stable relationship along thecables full length, producing a stable impedance character and furtherminimizing distortion. Triple-Balanced GeometryOur Triple-BalancedGeometry uses a separate ground-reference conductor, so the cables shield isnever used as an inferior conductor. Whether prepared with RCA or XLR plugs, the cables three conductors ensure that the positive and negative signals haveequally superior, low-distortion conducting paths. Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated TerminationsThis plug designallows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source ofdistortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique.Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used canbe chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.
