Vintage Custom 4 Channel Power Amplifier 2x Stereo Quad 405 Clone. Working. See pictures for the exact cosmetic condition of the amplifier. This is a very high quality vintage custom built quad 405 clone device which consists of 4 separate quad 405 boards that have been cloned in the 80s. These are paired with two separate toroidal transformers and big filter capacitors. Theoretically it should output 100 Watts per channel into 8 ohms meaning the total output power should be 400 Watts. While the amplifier has been tested and is currently working, the left led is broken and I assume the device could use some general service. The device weighs over 20 kgs. Also included is a bunch of documentation including an original quad manual and an extra unpopulated circuit board. Since it is a custom built device please carefully inspect the pictures before purchasing.

Quad 405-2 Power Amplifier Updated. I am the second owner and had it for over 20 years. It is in good condition and sonically very nice. No hum or noise. It is the final version of this amp and has German WBT speaker terminals and has newer 10,000uf power supply capacitors and an upgraded Burr Brown OPA627 op amp. The gain was reduced from 0.5v to the standard 1.0v.The photo shows some slight damage to the left most fin of the heat sink.

This is truly untested it is not tested and not working being sold as untested like a lot of the untested items on here. I do not have a cable for the input to test is the reason for it being untested.. It was purchased from an estate sale and the owner said that it worked but he had not used it in a few years.
