Genuine late Quad 405 current dumping power amplifier, fully serviced, sounding superb, and in stunning condition. This has just been serviced by me (qualified electronic engineer). PSU smoothing capacitors replaced with high quality, long life VishayOn board electrolytics replaced with Nichicon UFG Fine Gold high grade audio capacitors.Out of tolerance components replacedFull clean and test Serial number: 60752 (1981) making it one of the last genuine 405 units. After this the 405 often had the later 405-2 boards Will come with a mains cable to power the unit from a Quad 33 control unit. See the photographs as they form a part of the description. Quad 405 Mk1 Power Amplifier + Quad 33 Pre-amp Vintage Hi Fi Audiophile Collectable Just in from its original estate. Selling as spares or repair as Ive only power tested the 405 which the red light comes on and theres no untoward noises coming from it, but unable to power test the Quad 33 as it needs a small bulgin type power connector which is missing. Comes with kettle lead and a 2 pin din type lead. Some signs of age and use marks and scratches and the 33 has a small section of the Disc adapter flap broken. The 405 looks better cosmetically. Quad 44 and 405 Pre and Power Amplifier Set. In lovely cosmetic condition and fully working, a Quad 44 Pre amplifier and Quad 405 Power amplifier. Nice looking set and sounding great. In the 405 power amplifier, the two large power capacitors have been upgraded with Kemets and problematic electrolytic capacitors and some resistors were changed for DADA Electronics recommended components. The original removed components will be included. 1 x power lead, 1 x interconnect power lead and 1 x 4 pin interconnecting control cable are included. Both original Handbooks are also included.
