This is a great vintage stereo amplifier.Rated at 100 wpm but can produce enormous short term power when necessary. (Search YouTube for tests!)I refreshed this amp within the last year: So many other listings say their unit has been tested or serviced.Its typically not true - cleaned is not synonymous with serviced. Electrolytic Capacitors have been replaced and upgraded (with the exception of the four big caps, which tested fine).New relay installed.New chassis mount RCA inputs installed.These are a well known issue with this model. If you are looking at other offerings, make sure that the upgrade has been done,otherwise eventually your amp will have intermittent audio - possibly damaging your speakers.New Green LED lamps installed in the meters and power switch.Professionally powder coated cover.I have a different cover that has been stripped. I would reduce the price of this transaction by $50 if the buyer prefersto have me install/ship the unit with the stripped cover. I have not had the opportunity to have it powder coated. The faceplate has faded a bit - this common.The top of the faceplate has some small scratches, most likely from when gear was placed on top of it.I still have another unit in my system... need to lighten up the collection. Proton D540 Stereo Integrated Amplifier, Powers On but Untested. Parts/Repair? This is a piece of vintage stereo electronics, the Proton D540 Stereo Integrated Amplifier. I obtained this at an estate sale, so I don’t know much about it and I don’t have any other equipment to test it. Therefore, this is being sold AS IS, and as a parts piece or possible repair since I don’t know if it actually works. It does power on but a few of the buttons are stuck - the two “video” buttons and the “tape 2” button. You can still press the other function buttons and they light up, but those 3 buttons are stuck and I am not sure how easy that is to remedy. The unit seems to be in good cosmetic condition and there are no missing pieces, knobs, etc. It comes with the original factory box and styrofoam shipping inserts but there is no other paperwork/instructions. The box has some wear, minor tearing, etc. and some old tape on it. In addition, one of the styrofoam inserts has a chunk missing from the front of it but it still safely secures the unit inside. What you see in the pictures is what you get. I included pictures of all sides and close ups but feel free to ask any questions, I am happy to answer what I can. Ships USPS Ground Advantage.

For sale is a used Proton 1100 preamplifier. It is in pretty great shape, please look at the pictures. The proton engineers added some nice design concepts found in more costly preamps. They shielded the power transformer to keep stray fields down. They remote mounted the function switches back on the PCB in order to keep the signal path short. They used an Alps volume control to keep channel tracking constant . They designed an all-transistor power supply instead of using fixed regulators. They added a nice moving coil phono input. I recapped the power supply with premium Nichicon Fine Gold capacitors. It has been fully tested and sounds great. All sales are final. You will not get stuck with a non functioning preamp.
