Up for sale is my Pro-ject Phono Box Ultra 500 phono preamp. This has been my spare for a time now but I havent used it lately so its looking for a new home.Its in excellent condition as you can see from the photos with very tiny imperfections on the top surface that are impossible to see from the photos due to the chrome finish. You have to look really hard to see these in any event. It is mechanically and electronically working flawlessly and sounds fantastic. The little chrome button cap has popped off during a recent move and I have no idea where it went - Ive priced the unit accordingly due to this. New about 4 years ago it went for $500 and was worth every penny. The sound signature is very linear with a bit of forward PRAT. This unit is not one to soften a bad recording but to reveal the smallest details in a recording. I wanted a unit with some excitement to it and it delivers. So why am I selling it, because I made a step up. It cost me over $2000 to get a step up as I got a PS Audio Stellar. The PS Audio Stellar has more low-end authority as it should for 4 times the price. That all being said the unit is in great condition I would say 8 out of 10.
