Like new, purchased new Oct 2023 with no more than 40hrs use. Selling because I recently got a very good deal to a pure tube preamp and would need some cash for the upgrade. Overall the Pro-Ject Tube Box DS2 is well worth the price(even better now since I am pricing this to sell!) Functionally, the Tube Box offers a variety of loading options, is compatible with most MM/MC cartridges on the market, and also supports 2 input/outputs with different loading settings. Also, the fit and finish is really good, and the wood panels add another layer of quality to this already beautifully build unit. Sonically, it sounds very clean and analytical with a touch of tube warmth. I am also throwing in an 18V linear PSU+ power cord (120USD retail) that I upgraded for this unit for free. For sale is one Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 that I purchased new on November of 2021. This unit was made in Slovakia and has two dual-triode 12AX7A/ECC83 vacuum tubes in a like-new condition. There is an input capacitance setting on the bottom for moving magnet an high-output moving coil cartridges. Also on the front there is a switchable subsonic filter and gain setting options to better match your cartridge to your system. It was used for a year, about 100 hours, until I left in on overnight. When I tried to turn it on/off the next day, the on-off switch was not working. My best guess is that the switch was somehow fried. This is being sold AS IS for repair because when I tried to get it repaired, there was a 3-4 month wait, along with a bench test of $60.00. The estimate to fix this unit could be anywhere between $100-150 at a repair shop. Included with this unit is the AC adapter with only a US adapter plug. No original box and no manual. Please read all descriptions and look at all the photographs carefully as this phono preamplifier is being sold AS IS and I do not accept returns. Looks great with the rare eucalyptus wood panels on the sides, the best looking finish on these preamps, in my opinion. I swapped out the original tubes for Mullards 12AX7s and thats what Ive been using since. I have the original tubes also, Ill make sure they are in the box. They probably only have 30 hours or so on them. The installed Mullards probably have a couple hundred hours on them and still going strong. I do see some small imperfections in spots. There is a small mark on the front which I had not noticed before that can be seen from up close. And the bottom corners of the wood panels look like they have a small bit of wear. Again, you have to be up close to see it and I just want to make sure you are happy and pleased with the purchase. Ill ship it via UPS in the original box with the original tubes and the Mullards tubes installed. It will also come with the power supply and plug adapters and manual. Thanks!
