Vintage HIFI Dixons PrinzSound Stereo System 4 Record Player WORKS but needs TLC A lovely very Retro and rare survivor of a 1970s stereo record player as sold by the long defunct Dixons shops.I do my best to describe below in detail... it has not been used for many years. It plays my LPS & singles (45s) and music plays from both speakers (i think it would play 16 + 78 speed but nothing to test that with ) . However it plays the music a bit slowly, and the pitch varies a bit as in it goes a little slow then speeds up a bit then slower again etc.When player gets to end of record it just stops. I learnt to not let record completely finish so you can manually play lots of different records by just picking up arm shortly before end. If you let it go to end and stops, you just gently have to help with hand to turn record and arm then returns back into rest point via mechanism......I have been advised that there should be a metal piece at top of spindle thats missing and thats why doesnt auto return ?? Knobs all seem to work except the balance knob does not seem to as music still comes out of both speakers The speakers are quite small so not much bass , and sound like a washer or screw rattling inside 1 speaker when you lift and move it around but not affect sound. In the speaker cases 2 small holes... think were attached to small bracket at some stage (took close up of one). It has the original perspex lid in good condition So i have tried to outline all its issues i can find.. If you good at this sort of thing its very close to working so you could end up with rare properly working example if you have the know how. .I could not find another one listed anywhere... and its very of its time in appearance so great just to look at or perhaps a rare find for tv prop etc ? I will very carefully pack or i would very much welcome collection (Mersea Island near Colchester )From a smoke free home
