And they dont even require bi-amping plus a huge finicky equalizer system. You can hook them up to anything between a cheap home theater receiver and $5,000 monoblocks. The results scale up according to your budget. True audiophiles know that big heavy high-sensitivity speakers are the holy grail... and this pair is a perfect entry to that club. - Cleanly pounds down to 25hz in-room (measures to 20hz right at the rear ports!) - Buttery smooth and forward mid-range to die for - Positively addictive hyper-detailed off-axis airy sparkle on the top end. In short, simply FANTASTIC right out of the box, or can be lightly modded for even better results. The cabinets alone are infinitely nicer than anything you can build at home for any sane amount of time and money. A crazy amount of engineering went into this speaker and it runs circles around other things many times its price. For instance, this model is soooo much more fun than the NHT M7 or C-3. Speakers that measure perfectly flat with highly scientific testing are NOT actually what sound best to the human ear. If you know, you know.
