This Polk Audio PSW10 powered subwoofer, driven by internal amplifier labeled as 100 Watts, is looking great and performing perfectly. Even driven harder than would be providing an accurate amount of lowest bass, it sounds clean, and the only rattles I was hearing were windows and ceiling grid! This is a model currently listed on the Polk Audio website at $249 price. Multiple input types are provided. One is a pair of RCA Subwoofer inputs, which can be driven by a stereo or single channel Subwoofer output cable from your home theater receiver, or even from a preamp-level output. You can connect input signal to one or to both RCA inputs. (If you want me to add a Y adapter to feed both inputs, just ask after purchase, and Ill pack it in at no cost to you. Another input option that works for stereo receivers and for home theater receivers without a dedicated Subwoofer output or having speaker level subwoofer output is the pair of speaker level inputs. So, you can connect speaker output wiring into this PSW10, and its low pass filter amplifies only the bass frequency range you select with the Low Pass control. The Speaker Output wire connections pass the full frequency range on to your main or satellite L & R front speakers. With the PSW10 handling the energy of the deepest bass frequencies, as well as producing more of the deepest bass, your system can handle more power and produce greater amount of clean sound decibels. If you set the PSW10 on a had floor, the clear synthetic rubber feet will prevent unwanted surface-to-surface vibration. The frequency range specification cited by Polk is 40-160Hz. I provided a photo of the right side of the cabinet to disclose a finish defect caused by what appeared to be residue of previous owners spill of liquid. I had to use a couple of different water and citrus based cleaners with a brush and terrry cloth to get the white residue out of the vinyl wood grain finish, then apply a thin later of satin black acrylic paint, applying with a small brush to blend brush fiber strokes with the grain look. I lit it for the photo to reveal this area of imperfect finish, and visibility in your home will depend on placement relative to lighting. This info is provided for any who may care as much or more about looks as the great sound.
