Description
For many years I owned this amp and used it fine without the LCD working, as I could control it all from both the Pioneer mobile app and the Windows 10 app. So really the LCD display wasnt needed. I recently upgraded to the next Pioneer up as I wanted 60fps 4K. The VSX 923 has 30fps 4K which is fine if not using it for gaming and only feeding video through it. It comes with the remote and power cord. It doesnt come with any manuals or mic or wifi (unless you buy the wifi adapter for it), this is ethernet as stock. Although this was released in 2013 it is still very useful today especially if you dont care about Atmos. Comes with 4K 30fps sockets, 8x HDMI inputs which is quite rare, 2x HDMI outputs, see What HiFi review below for full specs and review. So to describe the amp LCD display issue, if you look very closely in the dark you can see a very faded display, so it is there, but it cant be seen in normal light or far away, you have to really look close up in the dark. So in other words it is working in full dimmer mode where the display is turned off or fully dimmed. It had been like this for years. I have no idea if it is easily fixed or even if I am missing something simple. I have tried pressing the dimmer button on the remote but nothing changes. So I will just have to sell this as though the LCD display on the amp doesnt work. If you look on the dark photos I have upped where it is turned on you can just make out the word stereo but it is incredible faint. Again though I have used this for years without operational issues, just use the excellent app. It still works fine on my latest Android phone (ignore the this was made for an earlier version of Android message that pops up on first use, it still worked fine. I hear there is an IOS version of the app too (I dont have an iPhone though). There is also a Windows 7/8/10 app version made by a fan that works fine if you prefer to control from your desktop. Remote control also works fine. I have factory reset this amp so it is as though it came from the factory without any of my settings or input names on.
