Here we have a SONY TA-70 Stereo Amplifier, a SONY ST-70 Tuner and a PIONEER PL-112D record deck from the 1970s. These items were all working well when they were stored away many years ago, and having tested all three yesterday they still appear to be working well. However, theres a very small amount of crackling when some of the amplifier controls are used. Otherwise, the performance of all three items is good. The record deck operates as it should, as does the tuner (Edit: I tested a couple of speakers today, because I intend to list them tomorrow. The record deck performed perfectly, playing starting & stopping as it should - but 20 minutes into playing my record collection, the turntable ran on for a few minutes after Id switched it off! Thereafter, it turned on and off as it should again). I suspect this and the crackling issue is simply the result of lack of use, and anyone handy with a screwdriver and a bottle of electrical contact cleaner might soon cure these things - although be aware that I cant guarantee it! UPDATE: Ive played one or two records in the last few days, and these issues are much reduced. Both the amplifier and tuner are in very nice aesthetic condition - although theyd benefit from a decent clean-up. The record deck is fine all-round, too - but for a simple-to-fix section on its front panel, where the thin sticky-backed-vinyl wood-effect has peeled, and a small circular mark on its clear perspex lid (..which looks a bit like a melt mark?) Take a look at the photographs to see these. Some on eBay are asking four-figure-sums for similar high-quality Hi-Fi equipment from yesteryear, but Ill be leaving the UK soon and simply need to clear out the things I cant take with me. So.. Im setting a low starting price on these, and the auction will have no reserve. Ill also throw in a small bundle of connector leads. Grab yourself a bargain!
