Receiver works perfect in direct mode. Both channels are equal and sound great. It’s a powerhouse,putting out 125 Watts @8ohms, but if you are here, you already know that. I think this can go head to head with my VSXD1S.The reason I am listing it for parts or repair is there is an issue with jazz, hall, dance, and theater selections in the surround mode. It’s a great receiver for two channel listening the way it is. when you make the selections in surround mode, it sounds like a station is not tuned. After doing some research, I found out that this is a very common problem with this receiver so if you’re looking for a two channel system, it will do just that with authority.. it is very heavy, so shipping will be steep. please make sure you understand that this is a parts or repair unit even though it works perfect in direct mode. In answer to the first and most obvious question: Im sorry, no, I only have this one.And I only have this one because I only had one when I bought my Pioneer receiver from a junkyard (B&E Salvage on Gerber Road just outside of Sacramento California -anybody remember them? Great place. This would have been back in the mid 1970s). Because one plug was missing, I converted the receiver so that I could plug in two speakers.I made a new connector plate and put RCA jacks on it; and thats why I have this plug, all by itself. Sadly, I dont have the receiver anymore either. I dont see that it says Pioneer on it, the only marking I see is a + near one of the terminals. So I cant be completely certain that this is the original, but ... what else would it be? The scratches (white marks) could be pretty easily buffed out I think, if you wanted to fancy it up; but you can see there are some nicks out of the corners as well.
