It’s an important job, and it uses circuitry like inductors and capacitors to accomplish it. Much of the competition uses an extremely simple, low-cost cross over made up of a single capacitor and inductor. The Pioneer SP-BS22-LR utilizes a sophisticated 6 component high quality cross over. Pioneer Andrew Jones SP-BS22-LR bookshelf speakers in very good condition. I had these connected to a low cost 50w class D amplifier and the sound was amazing - very detailed with an excellent sound stage and good tight bass. The speakers are in good cosmetic condition. One speaker has the center cone of the driver pushed in. Apparently this can be pulled out with a vacuum cleaner, but because it doesnt affect the sound in any way (its a dust cover for the center of the driver), I didnt bother. The other speaker has some of the vinyl covering twisted slightly around one of the screws at the back of the speaker. This looks like it was done during the manufacturing of the speaker. As its at the back of the speaker, its not visible during normal use. Ive moved onto a boat and have no room for them, otherwise I would keep them. Overall, these speakers look very presentable and sound fantastic. They are a great way to make a budget stereo system that doesnt sound budget.
