PIONEER SA-706 VINTAGE RETRO 1970S STEREO AUDIO INTEGRATED HI-FI AMP / AMPLIFIER This is a beautiful vintage Pioneer SA-706 Stereo Integrated Amplifier. Its a monster with a great reputation, and deservedly so. A lovely looking silver unit from the late 1970s (1978 in this case I believe), back when hi-fi components were built like tanks - and this one is a 12kg tank. With its solid aluminium faceplate and VU peak output meters & peak indicator lights, this would make a gorgeous addition to any retro / vintage hi-fi rack. I understand it has a power output of 60 watts / channel, but please check online if you require further information or clarification. This amplifier has been in storage for a while but I powered it up today and passed some CD audio through the Aux and Tape circuits and it sounds really nice - really warm with good highs and lows - they dont make them like this any more. I have given the pots a quick clean with contact cleaner. The VU meters work fine and are responsive, but the left hand channel bulb has blown, so the meter is not lit. I understand these can be replaced quite easily, with other colours if you so wish. The faceplate is in good condition with just a few super light marks as a result of age, the lid has a bit of discolouring / tarnishing. As this is a used vintage electronic item, there may be things I have failed to pick up on during my appraisal. As a result of this and due to the age of the item, no warranty is given or implied, and the item is sold as seen with no returns. Please view the pictures as they form part of the description.
