This is the small insert that sits in the base plate and is used to check the alignment of the cartridge (and hence the stylus). Note that on the PL12D it is referred to as Overhang Checker but on later models it is called Stylus Position.There are videos on YouTube on how to use it to set the cartridge position in the headshell (some refer to it as Overhang Gauge). Vintage Pioneer PL12D II Turntable tonearm counterweight. Some wear from age and use.

Pioneer PL12d turntable. Quite good condition and working well. Lazer speed checked at 33.4 and 45.1 rpm. This example has had extensive work to get to an acceptable playing condition. Has been cleaned and serviced. Perspex lid and outer wooden casing have marks and the wooden part has been rebuilt as was falling apart on my receipt. New drive belt, used headshell with good sounding new BUM budget cartridge / stylus. Tone arm recalibrated. Will be a good addition to any stereo separates system.

This sub weight screws into the rear of the balance weight at the end of the pick up arm and enables cartridges 8.6 grams or more in weight to be counter-balanced. This sub weight is for use on the pick up arm of a Pioneer PL12D turntable. It is not compatible with the pick up arm of the Pioneer PL112D turntable. These four springs are attached to the underside of the metal base of a Pioneer PL12D using the screws shown.They sit in recesses in the wooden plinth and isolate the metal top (including the motor) from the plinth.Extra damping is provided by foam rubber inserts in the middle of the spring - these are not supplied but can be readily made by cutting a piece of foam rubber to the appropriate size and shape. Pioneer PL12D Turntable with Shure cartridge and new belt fitted. Performs fantastically and looks great. Only down side is there is a mark to the dust lid on the top surface (no cracks though), everything else is excellent. Apart from the mark on the dust cover its one of the best available. Due to fragile nature of vintage TTs I prefer Collection, sorry. Any questions feel free to ask. Sensible offers will be considered, but low balls will be ignored or declined without comment. This motor was removed from a fully working and lightly used Pioneer PL12D turntable.Its in excellent working order. It has been left attached to the voltage change switch on a mini circuit board, which is attached to the underside of the metal base using the included plastic lugs.The three mounting bolts and rubber isolators are not included.
