There is a button for quartz lock above the fine tuning knob, and pressing this button immediately stabilizes the rotation.First, select 33 1/3 rpm or 45 rpm with the rpm selection button under the fine tuning knob. There is no power button. Lower the lever at the bottom right of the control panel from the OFF to UP position to turn the rotary disk. When the lever is lowered further to the DOWN position, the arm also lowers. The movement of this motorized arm lifter is perfect. The arm smoothly lowers to lower the needle onto the record disc.To stop playing, follow the exact opposite procedure. Raising the lever to the OFF position stops the turntable.
