Vtg PIONEER KP-500 FM Radio Tuner Car Stereo Cassette Tape Player Vintage deck is used and sold as-is. It powers on, but the output is weak and distorted. The tuner picks up stations and the tape deck plays without eating the tape. The pots and interior will need cleaning and there may be other unknown issues. The lights work. No wire harness or mounting bracket included. I purchased it at an estate sale where it had been stored in the garage. It had a “works fine” sticker on it from when it was originally stored. I have personally gone through the deck and replaced belts, pinch roller, lights, fuses, wire, resistors, capacitors, transistors, ICs, switches, and any parts that put the unit back in full functional operation in order for the deck to perform and last for many more enjoyable years to come. I give a 30 day money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with this deck. No one gives you that on EBAY for this type of item! Shafts are 5 3/4in center to center. Face is 4 1/8in by 1 3/4in. Faceplate is 7 1/4in by 2 1/4in. If you are not sure if it will fit. Seek professional help to avoid confusion. Shafts are very fragile and are prone to bending or breaking when shipped. FOR PARTS OR REPAIR - Radio powers on and lights up. It will output radio static in mono mode, but in stereo mode, there is no output. The volume knob is bent and pinched but still works, it is also missing the knobs. I did not test the tape deck, but I assume it does not work and needs at least new belts. I never got the radio to pick up a station, only static. Sold As-Is for parts/Repair with no returns I will gladly combine shipping if possible, just ask before paying please. Vintage PIONEER KP-500 Car FM Radio Stereo Cassette Player Tuner Tested *READ*. Listing as used as most functions work Radio working fine. Tape inserts, effects, rewinds, fast forwards but you can’t hear sound. My guess is it needs a new belt . you can hear the hum when it’s inserted. ‘Local DX’ knob feels flimsy/loose but not coming out. Not exactly sure what that local Dx means so have never used it. Loudness function works. Mute didn’t work with radio but maybe it’s only for the tape function? Tuner, volume and other pots work fine.
