I have no doubt they are interchangeable since I’ve found an A-suffix and a B-suffix super tweeter in a pair of HPM-40 speakers several times. This PIONEER super tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The polymer film is flawlessly smooth underneath the perfect condition protective metal screen. Overall, it’s exceptionally well-preserved. The PIONEER HPM speakers used this super tweeter to top-off the driver ensemble and it covers all the way to an impressive 25kHz. It has what appears to be a 1979 build code on the magnet cover and differs from the later “C”-variant of this driver only in magnet shape (thicker, but not as wide, and two ounces heavier overall) so I image they’re interchangeable. So, please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this superb PIONEER tweeter is correct for your needs. *Although the listing is written largely in singular to avoid any confusion, two (2) PIONEER #45-711B-1 tweeters are available at time of this writing. This PIONEER tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The lightweight paper cone, center cap, and suspension edging are all perfect and the lead-in wires are also unharmed. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity, measure the industry standard .205”, and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this tweeter looks practically new!
